Arsenal fans told 20-goal striker wanted, Arsenal in talks sign Bundesliga star, New £63M signing great addition
Here is a roundup of the top Arsenal news, gossip and transfer latest from icfootballnews featuring the likes of Viktor Gyokeres, Paulinha and Yoane Wissa that we think you may have missed…
Viktor Gyokeres is heading to ARSENAL and the Premier League after the Gunners agreed a £63.5 million (€63.5m + £8.6m in add‑ons) deal to sign the forward from Sporting Lisbon, and he will be a massive signing for the club according to reporter Iomie Stanley.
He told icfootballnews: Gyökeres scored a astonishing 54 goals in 52 games across all competitions in 2024‑25—and 39 in the league—leading Sporting to consecutive titles and earning back-to-back top scorer awards. He also hit 97 goals in 102 games for Sporting in just two seasons, showing remarkable consistency.
‘His intelligence in the box, diverse finishing, and lethal instinct make him the clinical number 9 Arsenal have long craved. He thrives in both aerial duels and ground battles, using his body to shield the ball and link up play
‘His physical presence will offer Arsenal a focal point in the attack, capable of winning second balls and creating space. Beyond goals, Gyökeres is praised for his pressing, stamina, and movement, consistently disrupting opposition build-up
‘He drifts wide into half‑spaces, drops deep, and plays smart one‑twos—much like how Arteta’s forwards (e.g. Gabriel Jesus, Kai Havertz) operate, this aligns perfectly with Arsenal’s collective, high-intensity pressing system and their emphasis on dynamic, versatile front-liners
‘Gyökeres brings a potent mix of goalscoring prowess, physicality, tactical smarts, and energy—just what Arsenal have been lacking in attack. In Arteta’s system, he could help the club win that Premier League title for the first time since 2004. .
‘If he adapts, he’ll be remembered as the finisher Arsenal needed, part of a new golden era. If not, the pressure and expectations around his hefty price tag will only grow.
‘He is regarded as one of the best strikers in Europe, and at ARSENAL, could become the very best.’
WISSA MOVE TO BE MADE?
Stuart Pearce has ‘no doubt’ that the likes of ARSENAL have been looking at a deal to sign Yoane Wissa from Brentford this summer, as the Gunners seek to add to their attack in the coming days.
Wissa, who mainly operates as a centre-forward but can also play as a left winger, scored 20 goals for Brentford last season across all competitions and has been linked with a move away from the club all summer transfer window.
It’s reported that Brentford want at least £50m to even consider selling Wissa before the start of the 2025-26 campaign. Wissa has played a total of 137 Premier League games for Brentford to date, registering 45 goals and 13 assists
The 28-year-old DR Congo star was linked to Tottenham last month, with Spurs now under the management of former Bees boss Thomas Frank, But Pearce feels Wissa would be a ‘major asset’ for the likes of United and Arsenal if they were to recruit him in the current summer transfer window
‘There’s no doubt Manchester United and Arsenal would have been looking at Yoane Wissa,’ Pearce told BoyleSports, who offer the latest Premier League odds.
‘When you look at the season he had last year, he was magnificent. The goals he’s delivered while playing with width and playing down the middle as well.
‘That’s a major asset for any football club and the fact that Nottingham Forest have moved the odd player on recently, along with other sides in the division, you would think that by the time the season starts, he might well have moved on [from Brentford].’
IcFootballnews Says…
ARSENAL have done alot of transfer business already this summer, signed the players that they really wanted, improved a number of positions, if Mikel Arteta wanted to sign Wissa, we are sure that a move would have been made by now.
ARSENAL IN PAULINHA TALKS
ARSENAL have held ‘serious negotiations’ to sign Bayern Munich midfielder Joao Palhinha this summer, according to reports that have emerged in the media over the past 24 hours.
There has been a flurry of activity at Arsenal in recent days after a somewhat quiet start to the transfer window, with Martin Zubimendi, Kepa Arrizabalaga and Christian Norgaard all signing on the dotted line at the Emirates.

The Gunners have also agreed to sign Viktor Gyokeres and Cristhian Mosquera, but their transfer business is far from done and A report from German publication Bild suggests Arsenal have expressed a strong interest in Palhinha and have held talks with the Germans about a deal for the midfielder.
‘My dream is to be successful here. It was incredibly tough getting here. Nothing in life is easy. I’m proud to have landed here.
‘There’s no reason to be angry. I’ve won a title with Bayern and hope there is more to come.
‘I will always fight, whatever the future holds.’
