Arsenal favourites to sign £60M man – Arteta told to sign Brazilian – Arsenal told to sign 12-goal striker
Here is a roundup of the top Arsenal news and gossip from icfootballnews that we think you guys may have missed today –
Arsenal have been urged to consider swapping Eddie Nketiah and Emile Smith Rowe for Aston Villa’s Douglas Luiz.
It was no secret in the media that ARSENAL were very interested in signing Luiz during the summer window and even made a couple of offers for the player, which was quickly rejected.
Rumours are back in the headlines that Arsenal will make an offer for Luiz once again – in hope that he is interested in making the move to a Champions League club and a side that will challenge for trophies.
He has recently earned a recall to the Brazil squad and there has been alot of speculation that ARSENAL will once again go back in during the January window and make a move for the star.
Ex-Gunners’ left-back Kieran Gibbs believes the Brazilian midfielder would help Mikel Arteta’s men regain defensive solidity after dropping from first to fourth in the Prem.
Gibbs told ESPN: “For me, if you’re not going to get a striker and go all out offensively and just try blow teams away then you need to shore up the midfield and just try to shut up shop.
“They have kept one clean sheet in the last seven. That’s not the Arsenal we have seen over the last 18 months.
“It’s probably best to go and get someone like a Douglas Luiz.
And when it was suggested ARSENAL might lack funds, the former England and West Brom star added: “Yeah, you can swap players. There are deals to be done there for sure.
“There is Emile Smith Rowe. Eddie (Nketiah). There are other players. There are definitely deals to be done for something.”
SOLANKE MESSAGE SENT –
Arsenal legend Ian Wright has named Dominic Solanke as a potential alternative signing to Ivan Toney.
ARSENAL have once again been one of the most exciting sides to watch in the Premier League this season and have a real chance of winning that title if they are able to score the goals needed.

But Mikel Arteta has seen his side struggle at times this season, as Eddie Nketiah and Gabriel Jesus are not players that can score 20-30 goals a season, somthing that is needed at the Emirates.
Solanke started his professional career at Chelsea after spending a decade in the academy at Stamford Bridge. He was a prolific goalscorer at youth level but was rarely given the chance for the first team.
After an unsuccessful spell at Liverpool, he has found a home at Bournemouth and is finally proving he can score goals in the Premier League. He is enjoying his best campaign in front of goal in the top flight, with 12 strikes in 19 appearances.
And Wright believes that the Bournemouth No.9 may be another attacking option for the Gunners this January,
He said: “Of course, the link is something which is good for him [Toney].
“I don’t think he’s somebody that if you look at the goals output that he isn’t going to do something at Arsenal, maybe he will.
“Look at the way he plays for Brentford and the way ARSENAL try to play now. Then I am thinking, ‘yeah, I could see him in there’.
“But then you could also see a Dominic Solanke in the way he plays.
“Somebody who has got some pedigree from Chelsea from playing at a young age. Played at Liverpool. Learning his trade. Getting ridiculed for the lack of goals.
“Look at him now, he is a proper modern centre-forward in everything he does – he is another person they are going to be linked to and probably in and around.”
ARSENAL FAVOURITES TO SIGN OLISE –
Arsenal are being backed to put the heaviest pressure on Crystal Palace to sell Michael Olise this month.
In the summer there was significant interest from some big clubs in the France youth international, with a reported £35million release clause in his contract, but he ultimately ended up staying put and penning a new four-year deal at Selhurst Park.

However – there has been alot of speculation in the media that all the big clubs are reportedly interested in a move for the attacker – and could even make a move this transfer window.
Liverpool and ARSENAL are the latest clubs guns linked with an interest, but the TalkSport website have claimed that Arsenal are the favourites to try and get a deal done for the winger.
But the Eagles are confident of keeping the former Under-21 international for at least the rest of the season.
Pundit Jason Cundy recently claimed that Michael Olise is too good for Palace and is good enough to join a big club: “I want to talk about Michael Olise at Crystal Palace,” said Cundy on the talkSPORT Breakfast.
“That kid, for me, I think he can go into any team in the Premier League – right now, including Manchester City.
“Crystal Palace fans won’t thank me for saying this but this kid is going to the very top. He’s too good for Palace.
“Someone is going to come in for him. He’s absolutely top draw this kid and he’s going to go to the very top.”

ARSENAL are looking to sign a striker and defender this transfer window – so adding a player like Olise is not really on the agenda for Mikel Arteta. But if he does want to move now – the Emirates would be a great move for the lad.
