Noussair Mazraoui wants Ajax exit, Gakpo issued transfer message and Arsenal in talks to sign Neves in Arsenal roundup…

Arsenal may finally be able to secure the signature of a January signing, with Ajax’s Noussair Mazraoui pushing for a move.

The Gunners have been credited in having a strong interest in Mazraoui due to Mikel Arteta’s desire to provide competition for Takehiro Tomiyasu, who is the number one at the Emirates right now

Arteta also knows that he needs to add a bit more depth to a squad that is unable to put a team together if a few players get injured, and he is hoping that he is backed in the transfer windows.

Now it seems that Arsenal are free to wrap up a transfer deal for Mazraoui, as he wants to leave the Dutch giants

The Moroccan right-back is keen to leave the Eredivisie side, and thus Ajax have just a week to ensure they collect a fee for the 24-year-old or risk losing the player for nothing in the summer.

And the manager will be pleased by Mazraoui’s recent interview.

Asked by Dutch media what his plans are for next season, he responded: “That’s a good question.

“I think the chances of me remaining at Ajax are very small, maybe 5 per cent.

“I am open for something new, I have played here for 16 years and I think it’s a good moment to leave.”

It is always very difficult for players to come from Dutch football and impress in the Premier League, but if Arteta is just keen to add to his squad and provide back-up for the impressive Tomisasu, then Mazraoui could be decent.

He isnt that big named player that most fans would like to see arrive at the club, but he is a player that will do a very good job on the pitch when he is called upon by the boss.

He could be a bargain

PSV’s Cody Gakpo has emerged as an Arsenal transfer target, and he has been warned about leaving the Dutch giants.

The 22-year-old has been in excellent form for the Dutch giants this season, scoring 10 goals and providing 11 assists in just 28 games.

And reports in the media have claimed that Arsenal are considering him as a replacement for Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, who himself started out as a wide player, as the Gabon star looks set to leave the club this month or at the end of the season.

However, despite all the speculation linking the talented young man about a move, Dutch legend Marco van Basten has warned the attacker not to jump ship and remain in the Eredivisie.

He told Voetbal4U, via Sport Witness: “He has been in the Eredivisie for a year now, you have to have a basis to succeed abroad. That is three, four years in the Netherlands.

“Then you are just a bit stronger, a bit better prepared for the higher level abroad – because it all goes much harder and faster. But nowadays, they all want to leave after one year.

“The sooner you leave, the greater the chance of not succeeding. If you do not succeed in those two, three years, then you go to another club that is less. Then your career is going to look very nasty.”

Look, if Arsenal do decide to make a move and make a serious offer to the Dutch giants, it would be very hard for Gakpo to turn down such a move to a club that is one of the biggest in Europe.

Arsenal may not be challenging for titles, but if they can get players like Gakpo in the squad, it would help close that gap on the likes of Manchester City and Liverpool

With Arthur Melo set to remain at Juventus, as it stands, Arsenal have opened talks to sign Wolves star Ruben Neves

It is no secret that Mikel Arteta NEEDS to strengthen his Arsenal squad over the course of the transfer window as a number of injuries and Covid-19 outbreaks have devastated his Gunners squad.

Ruben Neves

Could Arsenal sign Neves?

That has led to many reports that he will look to improve the squad and add another defender, midfielder and striker to the attack in order to keep in that chase to get back inside the top sour spots

The Gunners have reportedly talks with Arthur’s agent and were keen to sign the 25-year-old on loan before the January transfer window closes, but he has performed a u-turn and will now not leave Juventus this month

That means that Arsenal have had to switch their attentions to more targets and are closing in on a deal for Neves.

According to Corriere dello Sport, the Gunners are in talks with Wolves over the signing of central midfielder Ruben Neves.

The Portugal international has been a key figure in Jose Sa’s side this season, but Arsenal have made it clear that they need to sign a midfielder before the end of the window and may not be deterred by too great of an asking price

Guys if the reports are true and Arsenal are in talks to sign one of the most gifted players in the Premier League, them he would be a quality signing for the club

Neves is far too good to be playing for Wolves and a move to a club like Arsenal may mean that he develops into an even better player, much like Diogo Jota has done at Liverpool
