Lauren wants Dembele, Ramsey claim, Rabiot wanted all in Arsenal Friday
Here is a roundup of todays Arsenal news, gossip and transfer news from IcFootballnews.com
Arsenal hero Lauren has urged his former club to do all they can to sign up unhappy Barcelona winger Ousmane Dembele.
The Frenchman is now heavily tipped to pack his bags and leave the Camp Nou in the coming transfer windows after failing to make the kind of impact the La Liga Champions had liked, picking up a number of injuries during his time in Spain.
His performances, along with the fact he has started to miss training, has led to speculation that he could leave in January or at the end of the season as Barcelona eye up potential deals for PSG stars Neymar and Kylian Mbappe, who would cost well over £200, each to acquire.
And Arsenal, along with the likes of Chelsea and Liverpool, have been linked with a £100 million move for the Frenchman as Emery is reportedly eyeing up a winger to replace the injured Danny Welbeck, who could have played his last game for Arsenal.
Lauren, who was part of the invincible Arsenal season, has now told his former side Dembele is a player that they should go all out for the winger, telling Sporting Bet: ‘Everything about his style of play matches what Arsenal are looking for.
‘He isn’t getting the playing time at Barcelona, or playing in his strongest position, but Arsenal’s high intensity will allow him to reach his potential.
‘Dembele can play on either side of the pitch, which is a bonus and he’s showed that he can do it against the big teams, coming off the bench to rescue points for Barcelona.
‘I would love to see him at Arsenal.’ (READ MORE)
Arsenal legend Lauren says his former club should look to sign Anthony Martial from Premier League rivals Manchester United in the coming transfer windows.
Martial has had another frustrating season at Old Trafford under the guidance of Jose Mourinho, and has once again found himself in and out of the squad as the special ones hands Alexis Sanchez and Marcus Rashford some much needed game time.
But despite his inconsistent performances, the 22-year-old has scored seven goals in 16 games this season, and is starting to show the kind of form which prompted United to splash over £50 million to acquire his services as a teenager.
However, he is still tipped to leave United at the end of the season as he simply cannot get on with Mourinho, and is reportedly stalling on a new contract to see which clubs come calling at the end of the season.
And Lauren believes Gunners boss Unai Emery should move for Martial if he does not extend his deal.
‘If Martial doesn’t renew his contract at Man Utd, Arsenal would be crazy not to try and snap him up,’ the former Cameroon defender told Sporting Bet.
‘He’s a fantastic player and is starting to show what he can really do when given a good run of games.
‘Martial won’t go anywhere without being guaranteed first team football, which I think he would get at Arsenal.’
Although United’s preference would be to keep hold of Martial for the next few years, it is also believed they would be willing to do business if Arsenal, or any other chasing club, managed to meet the £80 million price United are asking for. (READ MORE)
Ramsey will depart the Emirates for free at the end of the season after the club told him in person why he will not be offered a new contract, despite the fact the player and manager both came out and admitted that they were hoping a deal could be struck.
However, the Wales midfielder is understood to have accepted this will be his last season at the club, having made 341 appearances and scored 59 goals since he joined from Cardiff City for just under £5m in 2008, and that has led to a lot of speculation about where he will end up in the coming transfer windows.
United and Liverpool have both been heavily linked with a move for Ramsey, as both Jose Mourinho and Jurgen Klopp are long-term admirers and would love to sign up the Welshman for absolutely nothing at the end of the season, despite the fact he is worth around £40-£50 million.
But despite interest from the Premier League giants, Lauren thinks the 27-year-old should stay in the English capital and sign for West Ham, telling Sky Sports News: “He wants to play. The club are looking at other ways but as a player you have to find your own way.
“If you don’t have the first-team shirt you have to go elsewhere. If I was him I would stay in London because he knows the city.
“Somewhere like West Ham would fit him. It would give him the leadership he needs and he is based in London so I think he has to stay at a London club.” (READ MORE)
Fresh reports from Italy have claimed Arsenal are lining up an ambitious January move for PSG midfielder Adrien Rabiot.
The highly-rated Frenchman looks all set to depart the French giants in the coming transfer windows after reports emerged which claimed he has rejected PSG’S third contract offer, which is reported to be around £9.2 million-a-year, as he wants to make the move to La Liga or the Premier League to really test himself.
That has led to speculation that United, Liverpool and Spurs are just three clubs who are ready to open talks in the January transfer window in hope of convincing Rabiot that there respective club is the best move for his career.
But according to reports on the TMW website, Unai Emery is now ready to swoop in and bring his former player to the Premier League, as a possible replacement for the departing Aaron Ramsey.
It is no secret in the world of football that Ramsey will be leaving the Emirates at the end of the season after 341 appearances for the club and 59-goals, as the Gunners reportedly did not want to pay him the £300,000-a-week wages he was demanding.
However, they will have a fight on their hands as Rabiot is a wanted man, meaning his price tag will go up if he does decide to leave.
ESPN pundit Paul Mariner recently urged Rabiot to make the move to Arsenal, he was quoted on the Daily Express website: “I love this guy, love him.
“I wish that said ‘The Arsenal’ because I think he’d fit in an absolute treat.” (READ MORE)
