Xavi sends Dembele warning, Arsenal told to sign Isak, Arsenal get Ramsey boost in Arsenal news and gossip…

Barcelona boss Xavi has warned Ousmane Dembele that he needs to continue putting in effort amid reported transfer interest from the likes of Arsenal.

Dembele has greatly frustrated since arriving at the Camp Nou. Due to a combination of both poor form and persistent injuries, he has made just 126 appearances for the Spanish giants, scoring 30 goals

However, there has been some shock speculation in the media that Arsenal may be open to the idea of bringing him to the Premier League in order to add a bit more of a goal-threat to that Attack.

And amid the speculation, Xavi – who took the reins at the club from Ronald Koeman earlier this season – has had his say on the current situation by hinting that Dembele needs to do his talking on the pitch amid transfer links with both Arsenal and Chelsea.

Speaking ahead of Barcelona’s Copa del Rey showdown with Linares Deportivo on Wednesday night, the former midfielder said: “I have already said it to him, I am waiting for him to make an effort

“The situation cannot be better for him. Let’s see what he decides.

“I’m hoping that he puts in effort before deciding. I am calm and waiting on an update.

“It does not depend on me. It depends on the club and him. He should think about himself and his future.”

Look, there is no doubt that Dembele has massive amounts of potential, but the player is just too injury prone. If Arsenal just want to add to their squad, then he could be a decent signing.

But he is no longer a regular starter and not any better than what Arsenal already have, So even though he has the quality to be a decent player, he would not be worth the money that Arsenal may have to pay.

Rio Ferdinand has told Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta to sign ‘talented’ Real Sociedad striker Alexander Isak, amid reports a deal is close

It is no secret that Mikel Arteta will need to add a new striker to the squad over the course of the January window, as Alexandre Lacazette cannot find the net on a weekly basis, while Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang is in the headlines for all the wrong reasons.

The striker has fallen well down the pecking order at the Emirates after failing to impress on the pitch, while off the pitch, the Gabon star has had some issues with disciplinary.

That means that the door is open for Arsenal to bring in a new striker and there has been many reports in the media which have claimed that Isak is a man that the Arsenal board would like to sign this transfer window.

Isak has scored seven goals in 22 appearances for Sociedad so far this season, after impressing for Sweden in last summer’s European Championships.

And recent reports in the media have claimed that Arsenal are closing in on a transfer deal for Isak after submitting an offer to get a transfer deal done.

And former Manchester united defender Ferdinand believes the Sweden international would be a great signing for the Gunners: ‘He will be a good signing. Another young talented player. He has done really well in the Euros for Sweden, I thought. He is a talented player, man,’ he told Rio Ferdinand Presents FIVE.

Isak is a very talented striker and it is easy to see just why some of the biggest clubs in Europe are all eyeing up a potential deal. But the Gunners fans wants to see a striker arrive that will net 20 goals a season and not ten.

Isak has many more years of developing to do, so right now, he is probably not the striker that Arsenal need to get them challenging for that Premier League title once again.

But he would be a good long-term signing to back-up a number one hitman

Max Allegri has confirmed that Arsenal linked Aaron Ramsey is likely to leave Juventus this month.

Ramsey has been a player that has dominated the transfer headlines for Arsenal over the past few months after it emerged that he could be leaving Juventus this transfer window.

The midfielder was highly-sought after by the Italians when his contract ran out at Arsenal, but during his spell with the club, he has not performed like many had hoped and he has been struggling to make any sort of impact.

That has led to suggestions that he wants to make a move back to the Premier League, where the likes of Tottenham, Manchester United and Arsenal are all eyeing up a potential transfer deal.

Arsenal are in need of adding a bit more goal threat to that squad as they are lacking goal-scorers, and reports have suggested that they see Ramsey as a man that can come in and add maybe ten goals a season.

Now, many clubs in the Premier League have all been boosted by the news that he could be coming back to the Premier League after boss Allegri opened up and announced that he would be leaving the Italian giants this January window

Speaking on Wednesday, Allegri said: “Ramsey is on the way out of Juventus. I think that the squad will 99 per cent remain what it is right now.”

Ramsey is a player with alot of quality on the ball and still has that threat of scoring, but he is nowhere near good enough for this Arsenal squad and they should not even think about making a move.

Paying him £350,000-a-week to sit on the bench would not be a wise move, he was good while at Arsenal, but he is no longer that player and would struggle back in the English game.
