Arsenal given green light to wrap up transfer deal after playmaker ‘has been put on the transfer list’

Arsenal have been handed a boost in the pursuit of Lyon playmaker Houssem Aouar.

Mikel Arteta has seen his Gunners side spend a bit of money this transfer window trying to improve key areas of the pitch, while the likes of Martin Odegaard and Aaron Ramsdale will also be joining the club.

But there is a feeling that Arteta has not been making the right kind of signings this transfer window, and he needs to add players that could actually make a real difference to the side, players like Aouar.

Aouar, who began his career in Lyon’s academy at 11, notched up eight goals and four assists across all competitions for the Ligue One side last season, despite the fact he wanted to leave the club last summer transfer window.

However, despite being a massive part of the plans at Lyon, Aouar has reportedly been put on the transfer list, with RMC Sport reporting that Director of sport Juninho is looking to resolve an attitude problem in the dressing room.

It is believed that Aouar once again has his heart set on leaving the club by the end of the month, with a move to the Premier League his preferred destination.

Look, Arsenal are one of the biggest teams in the Premier League, but the players that have been signing over the past couple of transfer windows are not the type that will get them back into that top four spot.

However, Aouar is a class act and a player that could add some creativity to that midfield, so the news that he is now on the market, the Arsenal board should make their move and get him for that £17 million that he is reportedly going for
