Perfect FREE signing? Arsenal should hand free agent move to Emirates this summer
Arsenal should offer former Athletic Madrid star Diego Godin a move to the Premier League, as they need to shore up the back-line this summer.
Arsenal boss Unai Emery will only be handed a small transfer kitty to play with this transfer window, so will need to be smart about the type of players he acquires this transfer window, and the price that he pays.
It is believed that the likes of Kierane Tierney, Wilfred Zaha and William Saliba are all players that are heavily tipped to make the move to the Emirates, meaning that he would be well out of funds if he managed to complete those deals.
But with the back-line a real issue of concern for the Gunners, they should decide to offer Godin a move to the Premier League, despite the fact he is now 33 years of age.
Godin has made 389 appearances for the Spanish club over 10 seasons, but still has a lot to give and he could add some much needed solidity to the Gunners defence.
He has experience at the very top level and the news that he is leaving Madrid for free this summer has alerted a number of top clubs to a potential transfer deal, with Manchester United and Inter Milan reportedly leading the chase for a deal.
Emery could bring Godin to the Emirates in the hope that he can inspire Sokratis and the possible of arrival of Saliba to form a formidable partnership that will help get the side back challenging for the Premier League crowns.
The Gunners are in desperate need of signing some world class players over the course of the next few months and they seriously need to get the back-line sorted out.
Emery already has some of the most exciting attackers in the game and just needs a winger, a midfielder to replace Aaron ramsey and two central defenders to really sent a statement to the rest of the PREMIER lEAGUE.
Godin may be getting on in age, but the man is a leader and just the kind of player that the Gunners need to sign to bring some stability to the squad.
So if the Gunners are looking to improve the squad this transfer window with not a lot of money to play with, then there aren’t too many better out there that could cost nothing to acquire.
