Club President issues statement and accelerates £64M stars move to Arsenal – stars ‘already packed belongings’

ARSENALs pursuit of Viktor Gyokeres may soon accelerate thanks to the Almeria club president, as the Gunners finally seek to wrap up a deal for the Sporting Lisbon striker after weeks of talking.

The Gyokeres saga has been ongoing throughout the summer, but it seems we’re finally nearing a conclusion, reports the Mirror. The Swedish striker has packed up his belongings in Lisbon and is close to realising his dream move.

Talks are now focused solely on the details of the add-ons and payment structure. And reports have claimed that Spanish side Almeria are putting pressure on Sporting to speed up the purchase of his replacement, by sending a not too subtle warning.

Sporting are keen to replace the Swedish striker with Almeria’s Luis Suarez this summer, but the forward has plenty of offer suitors which are pushing to strike a deal.

And Almeria president Joao Goncalves has now revealed that his side won’t be waiting to specifically strike a deal with Sporting, which may force the Portuguese outfit to compromise on some of their demands for Gyokeres.

Goncalves told CNN Portugal: “Luis has had his best season, he’s in the best moment of his career. 31 goals is a number any forward wants to achieve.

“We haven’t had any official contact with Sporting to date. We haven’t received any formal or informal contact, but we have with other clubs, and we’re moving forward with negotiations with other clubs. We’re managing our timing.”

After scoring over 50 goals last season for Sporting, Gyokeres is the man that everyone wants to see in the Premier League, many are wondering if he can cut it in the English game.

ARSENAL is a great move to make and if Gyokeres can adjust quickly to the Gunners and the Premier League, Liverpool, Man City and Chelsea should be very worried.
