Liverpool and Man United left fuming? as PSG offer unhappy star Rabiot chance to sign for Emery’s Arsenal
There has been some reports which have claimed Arsenal have been offered the chance to sign Liverpool and Manchester United target Adrien Rabiot this summer.
With the Gunners losing Aaron Ramsey to Juventus at the end of the season, there has been a lot of transfer speculation in the media which has suggested that Emery could make a move for Rabiot, who is all set to leave PSG during the summer transfer window.
PSG have tried and failed to keep hold of the 24-year old this season, as reports in the media have suggested that Rabiot wants a contract similar to the top players at the club, which the French giants are not prepared to offer.
That of course has led to speculation that Liverpool and United could swoop in and offer him a move to the Premier League, as both sides look to add a bit more creativity and depth to the sides over the next few months.
However, the Daily Mail have now claimed PSG have offered Arsenal the chance to sign Rabiot this summer, as the French star will leave the Parc des Princes having spent the last 12 months out in the cold.
Arsenal hero Charlie Nicolas has recently urged Arsenal to make a move and try to complete a deal for the talented midfielder.
‘We need a box-to-box style midfield player and a player that can pick a pass too, so it is a matter of bringing in the right ones,’ Nicholas told Sky Sports.
‘I think you need to know your system, fit them in and see where it takes you. Adrien Rabiot will be a free-agent and been linked with different clubs, but I would take him.
‘He has the quality and is of decent level, which Arsenal need.
‘In attack, I like Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Alexandre Lacazette but will they win you the Premier League? I think they could.
‘Between them, bearing in mind they haven’t actually played much together, their goal return has been a very good return.
‘Arsenal have been relying on one striker for too long and now they have two so it does give me hope.
‘I would sell Henrik Mkhitaryan and if I got the right money for Alex Iwobi I would sell him too. Denis Suarez has gone, that was a waste of time.
There has been a lot of transfer talk about what kind of business Emery will be doing this summer, but one thing is for certain, acquiring Rabiot would be a great bit of business, especially as he would be arriving on a free deal.
It would be unlikely that Emery gets rid of anybody as he wants to keep this squad together, but he does need to add quality in key areas of the pitch.
