Star changes agent to get deal done – Board have decided to complete Arsenal transfer deal for £72M man

Arsenal pepe

It has been claimed that Arsenal have made the decision to let Nicolas Pepe leave the club when the transfer window opens up

Mikel Arteta trimmed his squad rather dramatically during the course of the month in January as 13 players departed the Emirates Stadium.

The £72million record signing has struggled to hold down a place in Mikel Arteta’s starting XI and has been linked with leaving in recent times, with the likes of Lyon and Marseille both reported to be following the player’s situation at Arsenal with interest amid reports the player was assessing his options during the January transfer window.

However, despite all the speculation and despite all the rumours that he could actually depart the club in January or at the end of the season, Pepe opted to stay put at the club.

But that has not stopped speculation about his long-term future at the Emirates as Arteta will look to revamp the squad in the summer transfer window, and now the Gunners have reportedly made the decision to let Pepe leave the club

Fabrizio Romano, writing for Caught Offside, even revealed that Pepe had recently changed agents in order to actively pursue his options across Europe.

The report goes on to say that Arsenal know they will not recoup that £72 million they paid for the player – but will use the funds to sign his immediate replacement

There is no doubt that Pepe has real quality, but he is so frustrating to watch and Gunners fans just want him to show more desire – so it is easy to see just why the Gunners have made the decision to sell

Arteta needs to get rid of players that the club are just carrying – and he is one player that fans will not miss once he departs the club

But we are not expecting him to be the only one that leaves the Arsenal – a few players are tipped to depart

Arteta would have atleast developed this guy to earn him good money when sold, for now it will be another big loss to the club.
