Here is a roundup of the top Arsenal news and gossip from icfootballnews that we think you may have missed today –

ARSENAL target Sofyan Amrabat has fueled the speculation he could move to England this summer.

The midfielder plays his club football for Italian side Fiorentina, where he has made over 80 appearances since joining them in 2020 – but it is his performances at the World Cup that has opened the door to a possible move to the Premier League.

It is no secret that Mikel Arteta wants to add some depth to that squad and sign players that will make a difference when called up – and Amrabat is a man that is on the shipping list.

Now – he has opened up and hinted that he is all set to leave Fiorentina this summer: “Of course, the Premier League is a fantastic league, one of the strongest in the world,” Amrabat told the Daily Mail.

“It would be nice to play there one day, but it’s not that I want only to go to England, because Spain is nice, Serie A is a nice league.

“Football has changed a lot, it’s more physical, you have more to be an athlete, the tempo and intensity is higher.

“Of course, in England the intensity is very high, so I think it could suit me.”

ARSENAL are one of the biggest teams in the Premier League and need to make signings that will get the rest of the English top-flight worried.

Amrabat is a very good player – but will he reallly get Man City, Liverpool, Chelsea or Man United worried? No he will not.

If he does come to the Premier League – we are sure that it will not be with the Gunners.

Nelson to sign up

ARSENAL are set to tie Reiss Nelson down to a new contract after reaching an ‘agreement in principle’ at the Emirates.

He has scored some vital goals this season that kept Arsenal in the chase to win that Premier League title – but his contract expires at the end of the season.

But he has made it clear that he wants to stay at the Emirates – and The Gunners have opened negotiations, and there is a growing belief that an agreement can be reached soon.

Plenty of Premier League sides have been keen on the winger but Nelson is set to choose to remain at Arsenal, according to CBS reporter Ben Jacobs – he told

GIVEMESPORT: “Of course, his existing deal expires at the end of the month, when he would be available on a free transfer.

“There has been urgency on Arsenal’s part, but I think the parties have what can be termed an agreement in principle. Barring any last minute hitches, it’s understood that Nelson will now sign a new deal.”

There has recently been a breakthrough in negotiations and Nelson will soon earn a lot more than his current £60,000-per-week deal.

It has been reported on many media outlets that Nelson’s new contract will be a four-year deal as the Gunners look set to keep their 23-year-old winger.

Nelson wants to stay at ARSENAL – he wants to be part of the future at the club – but if he is happy to be a bench warmer and then come on when needed – then staying put is the right decision.

It is a massive decision from the lad and one that he needs to make sure is the right one –

Arsenal in Cancelo talks –

ARSENAL have held talks to sign Manchester City full-back Joao Cancelo, according to reports.

This season Mikel Arteta really has got many fans excited – with the Gunners now in second place in the Premier League with just five games to play – although Manchester City are now favourites for that title.

There will be Champions League football next season for Arsenal, no matter if they win the League, and Arteta knows that he will need to add to his squad in order to keep challenging for the titles.

The Gunners are interested in the star, with Arteta and Cancelo working together for a few months at Man City before the Spaniard left to take charge of Arsenal.

There had been some speculation in the media that Barcelona were also open to trying to get a transfer deal done in the summer window – having been long-term fans of the Man City star.

But Barcelona manager Xavi revealed his club’s interest in Cancelo was prominent only in January – leaving the Gunners with a good chance of getting the man.

Now – According to Sky Sports, Arsenal have also held ‘early verbal talks’ with City over a possible deal for Cancelo.

However, According to Kicker, Cancelo has his heart set on a move to Barcelona or Real Madrid amid interest from both clubs.

Man City now feel that ARSENAL will be serious title contenders for next season and will not want to sell anymore players to Mikel Arteta that they believe would improve the squad.

Cancelo is a brilliant star that would be a great signing for the Gunners and that is why Man City will not allow him to move to London unless it is for crazy money that the defender is no longer worth.
