Big defender announces Frenchman told him that Arsenal is the place to be!
Arsenal defender Rob Holding says he has been urged to stay at the club by former striker Alexandre Lacazette.
Last season Rob Hokding enjoyed some regular football under Mikel Arteta and showed the club that he could be a regular starter this season.
However – after the summer arrival of William Saliba and the continued speculation that Arsenal are interested in s couple new defenders – The centre-back has been limited to just 12 appearances this season.
That has led to some more speculation that Holding may decide to finally leave the Emirates at the end of the season in search of regular football – with a number of clubs interested in a possible deal.
And for Holding, the idea of leaving Arsenal is a real possibility after he was convinced to stay at the London giants by former star Lacazette – who reportedly told him that “the grass isn’t always greener.”
Speaking about advice from former Gunners captain Lacazette, Holding said: “Yes I saw Laca a couple of weeks ago and we spoke about what it’s like there compared to Arsenal.
“Lyon’s his home club of course, and he knows it really well, but he was telling me how much he loved his time at Arsenal. Actually, a couple of months ago he texted me to tell me to enjoy my time at Arsenal because it’s a step above everywhere else.
“He said to me to stay at the club if you can because the grass isn’t always greener elsewhere, and to enjoy being at a club like Arsenal. It was really nice to hear that from someone at a different club.”

Holding must hate being a bench warmer – especially at this stage of his career. So fans will not be too upset if he leaves as they will simply understand why he is open to leaving the Emirates
