Arsenal icon welcomes BRAND NEW signing to the Gunners Family.

Arsenal icon Theo Walcott has welcomed new signing Riccardo Calafiori to the club on social media.

The Italian defender signed from Bologna on Monday, penning a five-year deal with ARSENAL after months of speculation and rumours about his future after an impressive season with the Italian side.

Mikel Arteta was desperate to add a bit more depth to the side before the end of the transfer window and Calafiori was seen as the ideal player to come in and add some much needed depth to the back-line.

And after seeing the move happen – Walcott posed for a selfie with Calafiori in the USA, sharing the snap to Instagram with the caption: “Welcome to the @arsenal family @richycala.”

Calafiori has revealed he dreamt about joining the Gunners for a decade before completing his £42million transfer from Bologna – He said: “It feels amazing. It was tough until now but finally we’re here and I cannot wait to train with the team and play for the fans.

“It’s actually been my dream since I was 12 or 13, because I can see the level of the league here and the best players in the world, for me, play here.

“It’s a dream. I spoke a lot with the coach and with Edu, and they convinced me — but I was already convinced by myself.”

There is alot of hype about Calafiori and what he can bring to ARSENAL over the next few seasons – but he is certainly a very good defender that will add quality to that Gunners side.

This is another good bit of business by that Arsenal board – but there is sill time left in the transfer window to add a few more players and fans will surely be hoping that a couple more faces make the move to London.

But again – this is a great signing by Arsenal
