Sorry Man United! Arsenal to seal stunning deal as talks opened with world class winger Perisic
There has been some reports which have claimed Arsenal are in talks to sign winger Manchester United target Ivan Perisic from Inter Milan.
Perisic had a terrific world cup with Croatia and helped hi national side reach an unlikely world cup final, and his performances caught the attentions of former United boss Jose Mourinho, who was keen to add a few more players to his squad.
But a move never materialised and in the end Perisic stayed put, and with United getting rid of Mourinho, the Red Devils interest in completing a £25 million deal has gone, meaning the Gunners now have a free run at trying to secure a move.
Reports on the Sky Sports website has claimed the Gunners want to sign the 29-year-old on loan with an option to buy, as Unai Emery seeks to bolster his attack with Danny Welbeck out for the season, and Aaron Ramsey seemingly losing interest after agreeing a move to Juventus.
Perisic has scored three goals and registered five assists in 25 appearances in all competitions this season for Inter, but the Italians will only do a January deal if Arsenal can make the move a permanent one rather than a loan deal.
Would Perisic be a good signing for Arsenal?
Arsenal are in the hunt for a top four spot and Champions League football next season, but they are lacking world class players in the squad and adding someone like Perisic to the side would benefit the squad massively.
His pace, power and physicality is something that is lacking from the Gunners side, so if they cannot secure a loan deal until the end of the season, then they should step up and pay the £25 million that it would take to secure a switch.
