Arsenal in transfer talks to seal January transfer deal for PSG midfielder Nkunku
Reports have claimed Arsenal are in talks to sign Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Christopher Nkunku on loan.
Despite the fact Arsenal spalshed over £70 million in the summer transfer window to improve the squad and make Unai Emery’s side good enough for a top four spot, theer has been alot of transfer speculation over the past few months that players need to be brought in this month.
However, Emery has admitted that the club will only look to do loan deals this month, and one player that is high up on the shopping list is Nkunku, with the Spanish boss reportedly an admirer after playing him on a regular basis during his time with PSG.
The 21-year-old has made 13 appearances for the reigning Ligue 1 champions but only five of those have come as starts, and reports on French publication L’Equipe claims the Gunners want to sign him until the end of the season with an option to buy if he impresses.
Reports have gone on to suggest that talks have started between the Gunners and PSG, but the French giants are reluctant to let the youngster leave without having an adequate replacement in the squad.
Would Nkunku be a good buy for Arsenal?
Arsenal are at that stage where they need to buy big players that will improve the squad and make them serious Premier league title contenders, and although Nkunku is showing great potential, his arrival to the side this month would not give Emery that boost that he needs.
If Emery wants strength in depth to his squad, then he needs to loan a proven Premier League midfielder that can easily make the move to the Emirates, rather than a talent that is struggling for game time in a much inferior League.
Nkunku has talent, but he would not be a good buy, not right now.
