Arsenal captain Martin Odegaard is likely to sign a new contract with the Gunners, the fans have been told.

‘Arsenal are now planning to continue contract negotiations with Odegaard in the next weeks and months, in order to get a new deal done, following the fine work they did to tie down other star players such as Bukayo Saka, William Saliba, Aaron Ramsdale and Reiss Nelson in recent months.

‘Now it’s time for Odegaard – and Arsenal are very optimistic about a positive outcome to this story, with the Norwegian likely to sign a new long-term deal with an improved salary.

Jay Bothroyd has backed Arsenal to sign Brentford’s banned star Ivan Toney in the January transfer window.

The former Gunners academy ace believes that Toney would net at least 20 goals a season at the Emirates, He told Sky Sports: “[Toney’s] an A for me, he scores goals, he’s prolific, he’s strong, he leads the line really well.

“If you put him in one of the top teams he will score at least 20 Premier League goals per season.

“Great on penalties, penalties he’s unbelievable. If you took him to someone like Arsenal, I would love Arsenal to sign him now. I think he would score more goals than Jesus, than Ollie Watkins, in the Premier League.”

SHOULD ARSENAL SIGN TONEY?

Look, Toney will be our for the next few months because of issues off the pitch – but that doesnt hide the fact he is a proven 20-goal a season Premier League striker – he really is quality.

Arsenal are lacking a big man like Toney up top and the way that Arteta plays – he would fit into the system perfectly at the Emirates.

Gabriel Jesus may be the number one at ARSENAL – but once he gets injured, Eddie Nketiah comes in and does a good job, but he is not a 20-goal striker.

Toney would be a buy that Arsenal fans would welcome.
