Arteta told £25-30 million the price to pay if Arsenal want to seal transfer deal

Southampton will reportedly consider cashing in on Danny Ings if they receive an offer of between £25-30million from the likes of Arsenal.

Ings enjoyed a phenomenal 2019/20 campaign with Southampton and was amongst the top-flight’s most prominent goalscorers, but Ings suffered a slight drop off in both goals and games this season, netting 12 times after making nine fewer appearances.

However, that has not stopped speculation that some of the big clubs are circling for a potential transfer deal this summer, with Arsenal a club that has been linked with a move.

Arsenal are looking at Ings as a target this summer as Mikel Arteta looks to bolster his attacking ranks, as he knows that Alexandre Lacazette could leave the club during the transfer window.

According to The Athletic, Ings has been reluctant to put pen to paper on a new contract as he has been holding out to see whether one of the Premier League’s top teams launch a bid to sign him.

The report claims that while Ralph Hasenhuttl is keen for Ings to stay put, the decision may be taken out of his hands with a bid of around £25-30m ‘almost impossible’ to reject from a Southampton perspective.

Arsenal would be a massive move for Ings to make, but at the end of the day, at this stage of his career, it would be the wrong move to make as he would get less game time than he is right now

So is a move to Arsenal really the right one to make, and not just financially?
