Arsenal interested in bringing £40 million January target Perisic to England this summer, and upset Spurs in process
Fresh reports have claimed Arsenal are looking to challenge Tottenham and sign Inter Milan winger Ivan Perisic during the summer transfer window.
Arsenal are currently chasing a Champions League spot ahead of the summer transfer window as they seek to challenge for the Premier League title once more in the coming transfer window, and have been linked with a move for Perisic.
Perisic is regarded as one of the best wingers in Europe right now and has been lined with a possible move to the Premier League after suggesting that he is ready to test himself outside of Seria A and in one of the top three Leagues in world football.
The 30-year-old was on Tottenham’s wishlist during the January transfer window if reports are to be believed, but Spurs could simply not convince Inter to let their player leave half way through the season.
But with reports suggesting that Arsenal are ready to delve into their transfer kitty at the end of the season and try to secure a few big named signings, reports on the Football.London website have claimed that Inter are now seeking to cash in on Perisic and he could be one of a number of players that could arrive at the Emirates
Despite his age, it is believed that Inter are seeking a fee close to the £40 million mark.
Arsenal have the funds and quality to tempt a big player like Perisic to the club, it is just a case of whether or not they want to pay big money for his services and then offer him the kind of wages that top-level players want.
The Gunners and Spurs both need a player like Perisic in the side, but with so much interest in the winger, they will have a big battle on their hands trying to convince him to make that move to the Premier League.
However, If Arsenal manage to get back into that Champions League football spot, then funds and temptation will be a lot easier for Perisic, who wants to play at the very highest level of the game as much as possible.
