Arsenal want to sign a good quality stop-gap that will help fill the void of Gabriel Jesus

Arsenal made the big decision to sign Jesus from Manchester City in the summer, as Mikel Arteta was keen to add a proven top-levek forward to that front line

And the Brazilian has adapted to life at the Emirates with relative ease – and has become one of the most impressive, and important members of that Mikel Arteta squad.

However – he will be out of action for some time after picking up an injury during training at the World Cup in Qatar – which will mean that Arsenal will need to buyt a few players in the January window to fill the void of Jesus – and add a bit more depth.

And according to Journalist Dean Jones –  Arsenal want to look at signing a stop-gap in January to replace Jesus instead of a high-profile No.9.

Speaking to GMS, the journalist said: “It’s really difficult, of course, to come up with options at this moment in time.

“I mean, they have options within the squad already, but I think the best solution with them would be to find a good value stop-gap that helps them through the Jesus lay-off.

“And that’s kind of what I’m hearing they would rather look at.”
