World class midfield signing ‘just what Arsenal nee’ fans told after stunning move made

Jamie Carragher has claimed that the possible signing of Chelsea star Jorginho is just what Arsenal are looking for.
Over the past 24 hours it has emerged that Arsenal are now very much interested in a deal for Jorginho – who is out of contract at the club at the end of the season and a man that Chelsea are reportedly open to letting go.
Sky Sports’ Jamie Carragher on whether Arsenal are looking to sign new players to ensure they win the Premier League?
“I spoke to Mikel Arteta as we did the MNF Special with him, and I asked him that question and he was never going to admit that it was a chance that they can never let go in this January window.
“I felt that a big-name striker would come in with the situation with Gabriel Jesus, but they brought Leandro Trossard in as Eddie Nketiah has done so well and Trossard may end up being just an impact player from the bench.
“I think they have a slight problem in midfield in that they have been fortunate in that the midfield has played all season without being injured. I think Mohamed Elneny has picked something up that maybe a little bit more serious than they are letting on at the moment, and he is the backup for midfield, and they need to bring someone in.
“And they have gone for Moises Caicedo, but maybe they cannot get that done from Brighton, so they have gone for Jorginho, who is an interesting one. I can totally understand it, but I was listening to people talk about it today, and he is not the sort of style for Arsenal’s play, which is so quick, fast and energetic now and he is the opposite of that and I get that argument.
“But I also think that with maybe 10 games to go in the season, when they might actually need cool heads, when there is a pressure moment and the nerves are coming on in that title run in with seven or eight games to go, he may actually be a really good signing in terms of slowing things down with a cool head.
“He is a player that has won the Champions League, he has won a European championship in the last few years, so he is a top player, there is no doubt about that, but he is a different style of player.”
