Arsenal ready to sign up bargain Liverpool target after Hazard announces ‘i want to leave’
Reports have claimed Arsenal are ready to battle Liverpool for the signature of Thorgan Hazard after he reaffirmed his desire to quit Borussia Monchengladbach this summer.
Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp has amassed quite a world class squad during his spell at Anfield and his side are now one of the best squads in world football, but it is not complete as the German boss is keen to add depth to his side in order to progress ahead of next season.
It was claimed earlier this month that the Belgian was keen on remaining in Germany, But Gladbach sporting director Max Erbel says this is not the case and the younger brother of Chelsea star Eden Hazard will be leaving the club at the end of the season.
And according to reports on the Sun, Arsenal have now entered the chase to land Hazard during the summer transfer window, as Unai Emery seeks an immediate replacement for the departing Aaron Ramsey, who has agreed a move to Italian giants Juventus.
Ramsey has been brilliant for Arsenal this season and many are wondering just why the Gunners didn’t do anymore to keep hold of the midfielder, but he wanted the kind of wage that many have criticised for giving Mezut Ozil for, and that is why his ten-year stay with the club is over.
Hazard told Belgian outlet VTM Nieuws: “I have a year left on my contract but I want to start a new stage, to discover something new in my career. I hope the clubs will agree.”
Hazard has been impressive over the past few seasons for Monchengladbach and he is ready to make that next step in his career to see if he has the ability to make it at the very highest level of the game.
He could be a solid squad member and just the type of player that could come in and add something different to the side.
Arsenal may need big named players to take them to that next stage, but signing squad members is also need for the German as Arsenal will be looking to challenge for pretty much every trophy next season.
And Hazard has shown that he is ready to take that next step and test himself at the highest level, and the fact he could arrive on a free, it would be a real bargain for Klopp or Emery to try and get a deal done.
