Sporting Director announces talks to happen as Arsenal get transfer message over possible Klostermann deal

Arsenal get transfer message about possible Lukas Klostermann deal

RB Leipzig’s sporting director confirmed on Saturday that Arsenal target Lukas Klostermann is in talks with the club over a new contract.

Many Arsenal fans will know that Arsenal spent a lot of money during the summer transfer window to try and improve a side that has problems at the back, as evident by the fact that they conceded a massive 51 goals in the Premier League last season, and have not started this season any better.

That has led to a lot of speculation in the media once again that Arsenal will delve into their transfer kitty during the winter window to add another defender or two to the side, with Klostermann on the shopping list of Emery, if you believe reports.

The Gunners have been linked with a move for the right-back after releasing Stephan Lichtsteiner as a free agent in the summer transfer window after the former Juventus star failed to make any sort of impact on the side during his time in the English game.

But it seems that Emery will have to once again switch his attentions to another possible signing in the coming windows as the Sporting director of, Markus Krosche, has come out and admitted that the right-back is now in talks with the club about a possible deal.

He has told Bild: “We have said that we would like to extend Klostermann’s contract, and we are in talks.

“But we don’t feel any pressure. It’s important for me that you talk to the boys early enough for them to have time to think about it.”

Now we are sure that Klostermann is a decent player that has been making all the right noises over in the Bundesliga, but Arsenal already have a top-class right-back in the shape of Hector BellerinHector BellerinHector Bellerin and have a pretty good alternative as his cover.

So missing out on Klostermann will not come as a huge blow to Emery as many may think, But the Spanish boss does need to improve his defence and will need to add a world class centre half to the squad.
