‘Best to come’ 19-goal star excites Arsenal fans with Premier League message
Arsenal star Alexandre Lacazette has warned the rest of the Premier League that the English game has so far not seen the best of him.
Lacazette and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang struck up quite a partnership last season as the Gunners looked for a Champions League spot, but even their 50-plus goals could not help Unai Emery get back inside that top four spot and add some silverware to the cabinet.
But this season there is real optimism that Aubameyang could add to his 31 goals from last season and Lacazette could better his 19-goals for the club this season, as the Frenchman has not hit the heights that many expected when he made the move to England.
Despite establishing himself as a key member of Unai Emery’s side, Lacazette is adamant that there is more to come and believes he can become more potent in front of goal.
Speaking to Canal+, he said: ‘The Premier League has not yet seen the best Lacazette. ‘It has seen some very good, but not the best. I can score more goals and be more consistent.’
Lacazette has scored 37 goals in 89 games for Arsenal and was rewarded for his excellent all-round contribution last season by being named the club’s Player of the Year, and fans were very happy to see that he did stay over the summer transfer window, despite all the transfer speculation surrounding his future.
So the announcement that there is more to come from him will excite many Gunners fans, as the current Arsenal attack will surely become one of the best in Europe?
Arsenal deserve to be challenging for all the major titles and for far too long their best players have not fulfilled their potential, so now that Emery as added depth to the side, players like Lacazette will have to step up their game if they want to stay in the squad.
Lacazette is a world class striker and should be scoring 25-goals a season in this Arsenal attack, so it will be interesting to see if he produces the goods this season for the club.
