Man United, Liverpool stunned as Arsenal legend Lauren makes stunning Ramsey claim

Former Gunners star Lauren has told Manchester United and Liverpool target Aaron Ramsey he should stay in the Capital and sign for West Ham.

Ramsey will depart the Emirates for free at the end of the season after the club told him in person why he will not be offered a new contract, despite the fact the player and manager both came out and admitted that they were hoping a deal could be struck.

However, the Wales midfielder is understood to have accepted this will be his last season at the club, having made 341 appearances and scored 59 goals since he joined from Cardiff City for just under £5m in 2008, and that has led to a lot of speculation about where he will end up in the coming transfer windows.

United and Liverpool have both been heavily linked with a move for Ramsey, as both Jose Mourinho and Jurgen Klopp are long-term admirers and would love to sign up the Welshman for absolutely nothing at the end of the season, despite the fact he is worth around £40-£50 million.

But despite interest from the Premier League giants, Lauren thinks the 27-year-old should stay in the English capital and sign for West Ham, telling Sky Sports News: “He wants to play. The club are looking at other ways but as a player you have to find your own way.

“If you don’t have the first-team shirt you have to go elsewhere. If I was him I would stay in London because he knows the city.

“Somewhere like West Ham would fit him. It would give him the leadership he needs and he is based in London so I think he has to stay at a London club.”

Would a move to West Ham be the right one for Ramsey?

Arsenal may no longer want Ramsey, but the Welshman is just about to come into his prime and letting him leave for nothing at the end of the season is a massive mistake for the Gunners, as they could have got some good money.

However, Ramsey wants to play at the very top of the game and although the Hammers could be a good move, he would much rather join a club that is able to challenge for League, Cups and the Champions League titles, rather than a side that battles for a top half finish.
