Arsenal and Lille ‘are confident’ £30 million Gabriel deal will be reached after productive talks
Arsenal and Lille are reportedly confident that a deal for Gabriel can be reached over the next few weeks.
There is some speculation in the media that Mikel Arteta will be handed the kind of funds he needs to improve the side in the summer, and will look to bring in another defender in order to help improve that dodgy back-line.
The Lille defender’s performances in Ligue 1 have attracted plenty of interest from other high bidders in Europe over the past few seasons, and considering the Gunners still need to improve the summer transfer window, he has has been added to that list.
And recent reports have claimed that the representatives of the Brazilian is now in the UK talking to prospective clubs about a move to England in the summer, with Arsenal seen as an ideal destination for the Brazilian.
Now French media claim that the Gunners could sign the Brazilian defender as early as next week, and after Mikel Arteta’s side qualified for Europe, they have stepped up their pursuit of the centre-back.
The reports go on to suggest that talks have been progressing well and both clubs are very confident that they can come to an agreement for the £30 million rated defender.
Look, Arsenal need to add another defender to the side and if they do not manage to acquire the services of Gabriel, then it will be very interesting to wee which player Arteta signs in order to help improve the side.
If the board firmly believe that Arteta is the man that will lead them back to the very top, then they need to make sure that he has the money to sign players like Gabriel when they come onto that transfer market.
Lets wait and see if this deal actually takes place over the next few weeks.
