Arsenal and Liverpool target Loftus-Cheek told to leave Chelsea for good this January
Liverpool and Arsenal transfer target Ruben Loftus-Cheek has been urged to leave Chelsea in the January transfer window.
Regarded as one of the best talents England have to offer, Loftus-Cheek had the opportunity to leave Chelsea during the summer transfer window but opted to stay put and fight for his Blues future, with all indications he was set to get a chance under Maurizio Sarri.
But it just hasn’t happened for Loftus-Cheek, who has made just three appearances for the London club so far this term and that has led to speculation both Arsenal and Liverpool are ready to make cheeky moves and get a bargain deal done.
And Allardyce believes it’s time for Loftus-Cheek to finally call it a day with Chelsea, telling the TalkSport website: “I’m disappointed for Loftus-Cheek.
“Chelsea have told him he’s going to be a part of the team this season and, if that is the case, they haven’t lived up to that yet.
“What he did for Crystal Palace last season and for England at the World Cup, I thought this would be a big season for him at Chelsea, but it’s simply not happening.
“If I were Loftus-Cheek I would be battering the door down in January and saying, ‘that’s it, I need to get away’.
“And not on loan, get away from Chelsea properly and build his own career.
“He’s had the taste of playing first team football at Palace and obviously he loves Chelsea, but it’s not happening for him there.
“He’s got to play. He’s too talented not to play, we’ve all seen that.”
Should Loftus-Cheek leave Chelsea? Here is what we think.
Allardyce is right and Loftus-Cheek should leave Chelsea in the coming transfer windows if he fails to get the game time he needs to develop and a move to either Livepool or Arsenal would be a great career choice for the lad.
Gunners boss Unai Emery and Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp are great with helping young talents and they could both use something different in midfield, and Loftus-Cheek would certainly give them that.
