Arsenal tipped to conclude Saliba deal – PSV will sell Gakpo – Vieira happy with Arsenal fans in Arsenal news of the day –

Former Gunners star Kevin Campbell has tipped Arsenal to “sort out” a new contract for William Saliba

After being sent out on loan for a couple of seasons and impressing in French football – the Gunners board made the decision to bring the Frenchman back and finally give him a chance in the side

Saliba was rated as the finest young defender in the French League last season – and has started the season in fine fashion – with his performances at the back helping Arsenal to the very top of the Premier League

Arsenal knows that there is alot of interest in the player – and also know that interest will grow over the next few months as he continues to impress on a weekly basis – so are now eager to make sure that he signs a new deal

Now – former Gunner’s star Campbell has opened up and revealed that he believes that Arsenal will sort out a contract for Saliba

What has he said?

When asked by Football Insider for his assessment of the latest, Campbell said: “There is a new contract that is going to be sorted out.

“The quicker Arsenal fans see that the better.

“He is phenomenal. There was a lot said about Ivan Toney getting picked for the England squad. Toney was not a threat in the game at all. They nullified him.

“A lot of the good play starts from the back with Arsenal. Saliba’s passing and composure on the ball makes such a difference, it really does.”

Saliba is a brilliantly gifted young man that has the ability to become one of the very best defenders in the game – so if he continues to shine – Arsenal need to make sure that they get him signed up to a new deal

However – he does not need to agree a new contract – especially as he wants to be challenging for the big trophies and playing in the Champions League.

So, he knows that there is no rush – and may wait to see how far the Gunners can go this season before committing his future to the club

Vieira happy with fans –

Arsenal summer signing Fabio Vieira has been discussing his start to life at the Emirates – and has sent a clear message to the fans

After an impressing season last year – Mikel Arteta shocked many fans when he got the club to splash the cash and bring Vieira to the Emirates in a deal worth £34 million.

Many of the fans had no idea who the player was – they had never seen him play the game and honestly – many were wondering why so much money was spent on a player that still has alot to prove in the game

However – he has been impressing lately and scored his first goal of the season against Brentford last weekend – and now, he has discussed his start to life at the Emirates Stadium.

“Obviously it was very good for me as I arrived here injured, unfortunately.

“I had some time sidelined. Returning to competition costs a little bit, but step by step, I trained, evolved and grew. Now I’m here, I scored the first goal and I’m very happy about it,” Fabio Vieira told ESPN Brasil, via Mais Futebol.

Vieira also spoke about the affection he’s been getting from Arsenal fans, as they’ve adapted the chant they once had for Patrick Vieira for the Portuguese midfielder. “It’s really good to hear that,” he said.

“It’s a sign that the fans are liking me and what I am as a player. Feeling their support is fantastic.

“I need to improve my English and he helps me a lot with the language.

“Having Brazilians and Portuguese in the team helped me. It’s people that speak the same language. I don’t know much English, but I’m learning and with their help it’s getting easier.”

PSV will sell Gakpo

PSV Eindhoven have admitted they would be open to selling Arsenal target Cody Gakpo if the right offer arrived.

Mikel Arteta was handed some serious funds during the summer transfer window to improve that squad – and right now – they sit top of the Premier League after a stunning start to the season

Gakpo was a player that Arsenal were very heavily linked with over the course of the transfer window – with the impressive attacker an option for the club – but they simply could not get a deal done

The Holland International was also linked with a move to Manchester United, Arsenal, Chelsea, Leeds and Southampton during the summer transfer window after that stunning season last year

Now – all those clubs have been alerted after PSV stunningly opened up and revealed that they are very much open to the idea of letting the attacker depart the cub should they receive the right offer

What has been said?

PSV’s director of football told Voetbal International: “I can say with my hand on my heart that there has been no offer for Cody to which the management or the supervisory board have said: ‘We must do this’.

“We did state that if there were certain offers, we would have to sell.

“Not only from a financial point of view, but also because agreements were made with the Gakpo camp before my time”
