Caglar Soyuncu’s agent insists his client will resist interest from other clubs to remain at Leicester, amid interest from Arsenal. But would he be welcome?
We all know that Unai Emery was desperate to improve the back-line during the summer transfer window and was linked with some of the games very best central defenders, but he failed to get the backing from the board to land the players that he desired.
And in the end he was forced to make a move for WILLIAM SALIBA, who is not ready to make the move to London, KIERAN TIERNEY, and the very unimpressive DAVID LUIZ, who has actually made this Gunners back-line worse.
But despite the fact that Emery has been sacked by the Gunners, there has been some reports in the media which has claimed that a move for Soyuncu could be made by the Arsenal in January, as they need to seriously improve their defence in January.
Leicester City are ahead of Arsenal in the table and are being tipped to secure a place in the top four of the Premier League, and that is partly down to the fact that the Foxes defence has been so good this season, letting in the least amount of goals in the Premier League.
However, his agent Mustafa Dogru is adamant the 23-year-old will remain at the King Power Stadium.
“Caglar now focuses on the success of the team,” Dogru told Turkish radio station Radyospor. “A transfer is neither on his nor the club’s agenda.
“I don’t know what’s going on in the future, but he’s thinking about his achievements at Leicester City and with the national team.”
Arsenal have been told to open talks and get Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang signed up to a new deal.
Signed by legendary boss Arsene Wenger just before he quit the club, Aubameyang has fast become a real folk hero at the Emirates and impressed in his first full season in the Premier League by netting an impressive 31-goals for the Gunners last season.
His impressive performances and goals could not help the club get back inside the top four or pick up some silverware, but with former boss Unai Emery doing some great transfer business, the Gunners side looks more of a threat then they did 12 months ago.
Since joining from Borussia Dortmund in January 2018, Aubameyang has scored over 60 goals for the club, and the Gunners are desperate to end all speculation that the striker could be interested in a move to the likes of United, Real Madrid or even a lucrative switch to China.
And recent reports have claimed Aubameyang is hesitating on committing to Arsenal as he is waiting to see if there is potential interest from some of the big boys from Europe to take him away from the Emirates.
But former Gunners ace Kevin Campbell has opened up and claimed Arsenal need to get both Aubameyang, and Alexandre Lacazette signed up before they both decide to leave the club in the next couple of windows.
“Obviously you conduct your talks behind closed doors to see if they have got the appetite to sign new deals,” he told the Daily Express
“If they’re not prepared to sign new deals then you’re going to have to have a plan on how you’re going to move and shake.
“These players, if they’re not going to sign, you’re going to have to get hem out and get players who want to play for the club.”
Former Valencia manager Marcelino has been contacted by Arsenal about becoming their new head coach, according to reports.
Unai Emery finally got the boot from the Arsenal hierarchy after months of calls by the Gunners fans to get rid of the Spaniard, who failed to achieve his goals of getting Arsenal some silverware or back inside the top four and Champions League football.
His style of football did not fit at the Emirates, his tactics were all over the place and he simply could not connect with the Arsenal fans during his 18-month spell at the club.
And that has led to a lot of speculation in the media suggesting whom should become the next boss of Arsenal, with so many top-class managers linked with a possible switch to the Emirates in the coming weeks.
Now GOAL claim Marcelino is high on Arsenal’s wishlist with contact already made.
The report adds the Spaniard ‘kindly declined’ Everton’s advances last month as they also search for a possible successor to Marco Silva,as Marcelino has been out of work since being controversially sacked by Valencia in September, despite guiding them to a top four finish and Copa del Rey final triumph over Barcelona last season.
Getting rid of Unai Emery was a very smart decision by the Arsenal to make as he was not the man to lead the club back into the new era, so the Gunners needs to be careful about whom they appoint in the coming weeks.
