Arsenal ‘have made fresh lucrative offer’ to land brilliant La Liga target

ARSENAL have revived their interest in teenage defender Ivan Fresneda following Real Valladolid’s relegation from La Liga, and have reportedly made a fresh offer for the lad

Mikel Arteta was keen on taking his time during the January transfer window in recruiting players that he believes will add some quality to the squad – with Leandro Trossard, Jorginho and Jakub Kiwior just some of the names that made a move.

But there was big talk that the Gunners were in talks to sign the highly-exciting Fresneda – who has been making a real name for himself over in La Liga – but despite all the hype and speculation – the lad stayed put.

WHAT IS THE LATEST – 

Now – according to reports on Spanish outlet Mundo Deportivo – they have already made a lucrative offer to the player and the LaLiga club.

The report adds that the Gunners can supposedly pay more than rivals Borussia Dortmund for him.

And the reports adds there are suggestions that they are ready to sell for just half of that original valuation and that could open the door for Arsenal to make a formal £17.5m offer.

WHAT HAS FRESNEDA RECENTLY SAID ABOUT THE GUNNERS?

Fresneda recently revealed that he is a big fan of ARSENAL manager Arteta and Arsenal’s style of play.

‘I like Arteta a lot because I think he’s a great coach; I follow the European leagues and I think the work he’s doing with his club is fantastic,’ Fresneda told The Athletic.

‘But now with [Real Valladolid manager] Pezzolano and before with [previous manager] Pacheta we do that style of play, and that style is the one I like the most.’

WOULD HE BE A GOOD SIGNING?

For the money that is being talked about – Fresneda could be a very good signing for the Gunners.

He will definitely add some more depth to the squad.
