Fans told Mikel Arteta ‘may regret’ signing £200k-a-week star for Arsenal

Liverpool legend Steve Nicol believes Mikel Arteta might regret signing Kai Havertz for ARSENAL

After the decision was made from Chelsea to let Kai Havertz depart the club – Arsenal quickly showed an interest in getting a deal done for the German star.

And after a few weeks of speculation and rumours – Arsenal managed to wrap up a transfer signing of Havertz this week in a deal that will cost the club £65 million and £200k-a-week.

However – despite much excitement from fans surrounding the signing of Kai Havertz – Nicol has claimed that Arteta might actually regret bringing the German to the Emirates.

He told ESPN: “He’s not getting 18 goals. I would love to see how he gets all these assists and goals because I am not sure he starts.

“There’s no way Jesus doesn’t start, right?! The front three is set. If Havertz, in his first game, if he does start in the middle, has a shocker, then you might never see him again.

“Arteta might go ‘you know what, I have made a big mistake. This isn’t going to work’.

“If he plays four, five or six games and, all of a sudden, Arteta goes ‘well, you know what, this isn’t too bad going forward, but defensively teams are getting at us for fun.

“I am going to change something here’. I am (negative towards it) because I don’t understand the signing.”

Only time will tell if Havertz is going to be a good signing for Arsenal – but one thing is for certain – ARSENAL have signed a player THAT HAS THE ABILITY to score goals on a weekly basis.

He may not have had the best of time at Chelsea – but he still put in some decent performances and we are all excited to see just what he can do under Arteta.
