Emery lays into Arsenal star, Gunners can seal deal for just £53 million, Perfect Ozil replacement opens up about possible January move

Here is a roundup of the latest Arsenal news from icfootballnews.

Unai Emery has blasted Mesut Ozil and claimed the German ‘didn’t deserve a place on the bench’ for the game against Standard Liege.

Ozil is one of the Gunners biggest players and one of the best number tens in world football, when he is on top form. But he has been in the headlines for all the wrong reasons over the past 12 months as his performances in an Arsenal shirt have not matched the wages he was given under Arsene Wenger.

It was no secret that Ozil was almost out-of-contract before Arsenal gave in and offered him a massive £350,000-a-week deal, especially as they literally just let Alexis Sanchez leave for Manchester United and did not want to lose another big named player.

But since then his performances have been inconsistent and he has been heavily criticised for his work-rate, even being dropped by current boss Unai Emery for the big games of the premier League season, with many ultimately claiming that he could have been sold during the summer.

Italian outlet Calcio Mercato claim the Gunners want to sell the German midfielder because he does not fit into manager Unai Emery’s plans and the Italian Publication add the 2014 World Cup winner has attracted interest from clubs in Turkey, China and America.

And it seems that his time at the club is pretty much over as he cant even make the bench for the Europa League games, as he was left out the side for the 4-0 hammering on Thursday night, leading to Emery suggesting that he does not deserve a place on the bench.

‘Really I am thinking every time to decide the best players for each match and the best player for the squad to play and [who will] help us,’ Emery saidEmery saidEmery said

‘When I decide he’s not in the squad it’s because another player deserves it more. Continue working. Tomorrow we have training, tomorrow we have training with the players who didn’t play.

‘And Sunday we have another match and we are going to decide the same, the first eleven possible. Our target is to win on Sunday and adapt to the difficulty of Bournemouth and carry on in the same way in each match.’

RB Leipzig are desperate to remove the release clause in Dayot Upamecano’s contract, as Arsenal can wrap up a transfer deal for just £53 million.

Gunners boss Uani emery was linked with a whole host of players during the summer transfer window, and many fans were excited to see what kind of players that the Spaniard would bring in to make a real statement to the Premier League and rest of the top four challengers.

But despite doing some good business, there has been a lot of talk that Emery failed to sign the type of defenders that would come in and ACTUALLY HELP the back-line improve from the 51-goals that they conceded in the Premier League last season, but that has not been the case.

And that has led to a lot of transfer speculation in the media that Arsenal could once again delve into their transfer kitty during the January window and try to acquire a player that would help improve the back-line, with Upamecano on the shopping list.

The Gunners came knocking during the summer transfer window but failed to persuade the Bundesliga outfit to part with their 20-year-old talent as the German side had no intention of losing one of their most promising players.

But according to German publication SportBild, the Germans are desperate to try and get the release clause removed from the stars contract as they know that Arsenal will only have to pay around £53 million to secure a transfer deal in the next couple of windows.

They know that the lad is one of the most promising young defenders in the game and are seeking close to £90 million for his services, a fee they believe they can achieve with all the interest shown in the lad.

Ajax star and long-term Arsenal target Donny Van Der Beek has opened up about a January move away from the Dutch giants.

The midfielder has been part of Ajax’s run to the Champions League semi-finals and scored the decisive goal at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium as the Dutch side took a 1-0 lead against Mauricio Pochettino’s side in the first leg, and was a star performer in the second leg loss to the London club.

He has become one of the most coveted players in Europe after helping Ajax win the League, the Dutch Cup as well as Champions League success and there has been a lot of transfer speculation that some of Europes biggest clubs could make a move.

Arsenal boss Unai Emery has become a fan of the exciting Dutchman after seeing him impressive performances, and with the Gunners boss seeking an immediate replacement forMesut Ozil, who is heading for the chopping board, he is ready to battle the likes of Napoli, Barcelona and Real Madrid for De Beeks signature.

But amid all the speculation surrounding his future, Van De Beek has opened up on the possibility of leaving Ajax this coming winter window.

He told Voetbal International: “I will end the year with Ajax. Maybe at one point in my career I would change clubs in the winter, but currently I won’t do that.”

Emery will have some funds available in the transfer window to try and acquire the right kind of players for Arsenal, and although an immediate replacement for Ozil is not needed, De Beek has shown real quality in the Premier League and could be an ideal replacement for the German.
