Legend rips into Aubameyang, Arsenal close in £100m deal as target wants move, Madrid midfielder drops hint he aants Arsenal deal

Here is a roundup of the latest Arsenal news from icfootballnews.com

Gunners legend Martin Keown has laid into Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang after Arsenal beat Bournemouth at the weekend.

Aubameyang was signed by former boss Arsene Wenger just before he decided to let his grasp on the club go, for someone like Emery to come in and lead the club into a new era in which they are once again challenging for both the Premier League and Champions League titles.

But it is his signing that has been taking all the headlines for the Gunners over the past few seasons and has firmly become one of the best strikers in the game since his move to the Premier League, netting 49-goals in just 74-appearances for the Arsenal.

Aubameyang has already started the season with seven Premier League goals and has already managed to get the Gunners out of a few sticky situations with crucial goals, but that has not stopped Keown criticising the hitman.

Speaking on Match of the Day 2, Keown blasted Arsenal for ‘switching off’ in the second half and told Aubameyang to ‘work harder’ without the ball in order to set the tone for the rest of the team.

‘Let’s give them credit because it’s been a difficult week for Arsenal. I thought they pressed really well, that intensity in their play… that’s what every good team is looking for. It’s not just playing with the ball – it’s also what you do without it.

‘They started the game very well from that point of view, everyone was engaging.

It was a stark contrast to what Gunners boss Unai Emery claimed about the Gabon striker, after the Spaniard claimed that Aubameyang has become a leader on and off the pitch over the past few months at the club.

‘He is an experienced player now,’ Emery said on the Sky Sports website. He played in France, Germany and now in England at a high level and with a high performance. His experience is good, his team-mates decided with the vote that they wanted him as vice-captain.

‘I am usually speaking with him and now he is more confident and more mature in the Premier League compared to when I arrived last year, he came only six months before me.

‘He scored a lot of goals last year but has now also taken a big responsibility within the team and he is one of the captains who can manage in the dressing room.

‘I will speak with him in my office, the hotel or the dressing room. First, we built a human connection and then as a player and then I know I can ask him what I want and what the team needs – he always listens and will always give his best to provide that.

‘He will play all minutes, some minutes, all games if we ask that of him and he is always ready to play again – this is also showing his leadership qualities.’

Arsenal should make a move for Gareth Bale amid reports he wants to leave Real Madrid.

Bale has been in the headlines for all the wrong reasons over the past few months as all indications suggested that he was leaving Madrid during the transfer window, especially after Zidane came out and pretty much admitted that he no longer wanted the Welshman in his squad anymore.

That led to a lot of transfer speculation that he could be heading back to the Premier League, with the likes of Manchester United, Chelsea and even Arsenal boss Unai Emery even linked with a shock move for the Welshman.

And with the transfer window now closed, Zidane has done a total U-turn and admitted that Bale will now be staying at the club, telling the AS website: “We talked about it before the match, I think we talked about it two or three times to say that he is going to stay. And all the players that are here now are only thinking about this season.

“I think this is true considering the way Gareth performed, but not only Gareth. I think that everyone played a good game.

“All we have to do is to think about this season and I am sure that he and all the other players only think about staying here and play.”

But according to fresh reports on Spanish publication AS, Bale has now decided that he does indeed want to leave Madrid and will seek a move away in the coming windows, alerting some of the biggest clubs in the game to a possible deal.

Real Madrid midfielder Dani Ceballos has dropped a bit hint that he would like to stay at Arsenal beyond the season.

Arsenal boss Unai emery was desperate to add a another creative midfielder to his squad during the summer transfer window after losing Aaron Ramsey to Juventus on a free transfer to Juventus, and the Spanish boss was keen to acquire Ceballos from Real Madrid.

The Gunners have been missing a deep-lying playmaker since Santi Cazorla was in his pomp, but in Ceballos, fans are convinced Unai Emery might have finally found an heir to the diminutive cult hero, and he hinted his stay in north London could be longer term and insisted he simply wasn’t enjoying his football at the Bernabeu.

‘Going to Arsenal has been a very important step in my career,’ he said on the AS website

‘I don’t feel sorry for not being in Madrid. Right now I am where I want to be and I am very happy. My idea was to go out, play and enjoy football.

‘In the previous two years I had not done so.’

‘Our goal is to reach the European Championship in the best possible conditions. We have a team with a lot of room for improvement. ‘We work side by side to show the level we want in the European Championship.’
