Arsenal target James Maddison admits transfer gossip surrounding himself is a compliment but he won’t let it distract him.

Despite holding months of contract talks with the Gunners, Aaron Ramsey could not agree a new deal with the club and was forced to seek alternatives at the end of the season, with the Welshman having the likes of Chelsea, Liverpool, Manchester United and Even Barcelona all reportedly eyeing up a transfer deal.

However, then Italian Champions Juventus came calling for his signature and it do not take the Seria A giants to agree a deal with the Welshman and offer him the kind of wages that Arsenal were not prepared to pay, with reports that he has signed a deal that is close to the £400,000-a-week mark.

And recent reports suggested the Gunners have now launched a surprising enquiry for Leicester’s Maddison, who only moved to the King Power Stadium from Norwich City back in the summer.

He had been linked with a move to Arsenal before that – as well as the likes of Liverpool, with his impressive performances of Leicester impressing a number of bosses.

But despite all the transfer speculation surrounding his future, Maddison is not getting carried away with his future.

He told Sky Sports: “No, you have just got to ignore that and take it all in your stride.

“As a 17 year-old boy I’d started five games for Coventry and saw on my phone that I was being linked with Tottenham and Liverpool.

“With transfer talk you need to take it as a compliment that people are even talking about you, it won’t distract me.”

Arsenal are eyeing up a possible move for Cagliari star and Chelsea target Nicolo Barella in the summer window as a possible replacement for German midfielder Mesut Ozil, who has been linked with a move away from the club.

Barella was the talk of the January transfer window as the likes of Chelsea were reportedly keen to acquire his services, with the Blues even opening brief talks about a possible transfer deal.

However, they could not complete any possible deal and Barella stayed put with suggestions he will look to leave the club this transfer window, with Arsenal boss Emery now reportedly joining the chase about a possible deal.

With rumours that Ozil is on his way out of the club, the Gunners have been eyeing up a possible deal for Barella and have already sent scouts out on numerous occasions to keep eye on his performances for Cagliari, who has been impressive since the January transfer window shut.

And now according to reports on the TalkSport website, Emery is ready to splash the cash and bring the midfielder to the Premier League.

There are many that feel that Ozil is done at the Emirates and the best thing for Emery to do is offload him during the next few weeks, especially to free up some money and get that £350,000-a-week wages off the books.

Brazilian sensation Gabriel Martinelli is to complete his long-awaited move to Arsenal over the coming days.

The Gunners have been keeping tabs on the 17-year-old’s progress and scouts have been providing detailed reports for several months as they seek to add some fresh faces to the squad ahead of next season.

And recent reports suggested that Arsenal have reached an agreement to sign Martinelli and the forward will make the move to the Gunners once he turns 18 in June as Emery managed to beat off the likes of Manchester United, Manchester City and a number of Brazilian clubs to secure a transfer deal for Martinelli.

Emery is keen to add along-term replacement to the side after long-serving star Aaron Ramsey failed to agree a new contract at the club and make a big switch to Italian giants Juventus in a deal that could be well over £350,000-a-week.

And it appears the move is just a formality now as he will pen a five-year contract with the Gunners, Globo Esporte report.

Martinelli, who made his professional debut last year, scored six goals for Ituano in the Campeonato Paulista earlier this year.

Roberto Martinez, the Belgium manager, has discussed Yannick Carrasco’s proposed move to Arsenal.

The former Atletico Madrid star caused controversy over 12 months ago when he decided to join Dalian Yifang alongside teammate Nicolas Gaitan in big-money moves, but he desperately keen on a making a big money move back to Europe at the end of the season, with the Gunners keen.

The Gunners are known to be keen and are believed to have been close on finalising a deal for the Belgian for days and now the winger, who formerly played for Monaco and Atletico Madrid, with the TalkSport website reporting Italian journalist Nicolo Schira says personal terms have been agreed to take Carrasco to the Emirates, with Arsenal and Dalian Yifang now in negotiations to agree a fee.

And he has admitted he wants to be back in Europe.

“The whole world knows that I want to return to Europe,” he said on the Daily Express.

“Now, it depends on the president and I hope he finds a solution.”

and Martinez was quizzed on the rumours by HLN.

He said: “Yannick feels his moment has come. Who am I to stop him?

“He doesn’t necessarily have to leave China. I even plan a visit to the country, also to see [Mousa] Dembélé. Playing football in China is not an issue for me.”
