Here is a roundup of the latest Arsenal news from icfootballnews
Arsenal are interested in Mainz star Jean-Philippe Gbamin this transfer window, according to agent Bernard Collignon
Gbamin has made almost 100 appearances for the German side in three seasons, missing just three games as Mainz finished 12th last season.
His performances for the German side this season have caught the attentions of the Arsenal boss Unai Emery, who is eyeing up a number of possible summer deals this transfer window.
Emery saw his Gunners side fail to qualify for the Champions League last season and also fail to win any silverware, with his back-line failing to live upto the standards that many expected.
And now the agent of Gbamin has now claimed that the Gunners have been tracking the versatile 23-year-old for many months.
Agent Bernard Collignon told German website Fussball Transfers: “I had meetings with Liverpool, Tottenham, Arsenal, Everton and many other clubs.
“He is in the shortlist. However, not as a top candidate, because its exact position is unclear.
“In my opinion he is a player worth €60million. It’s time for him to play as a centre-back.
“There he would be a top player in all four major leagues and would make a great career.”
AC Milan have made a cheeky opening offer to Arsenal for midfielder Lucas Torreira, with the Gunners open to selling the midfielder.
Now that the transfer window has opened up, there has already been a lot of transfer talk about whom Gunners boss Unai Emery could acquire and help get the club back challenging for the Premier League titles and playing Champions League football.
But one of his summer recruits from last season has taken the headlines over the past few days after opening up about his future plans after Arsenal, with Torreira hinting that he would be open to the idea of making a quick return to Seria A.
The Uruguay international has become an integral part of Emery’s plans this season, with many believing he is one of the best buys of last summer’s transfer window.
It’s understood C Milan’s new manager, Marco Giampaolo, has identified Torreira as his ‘dream’ signing after working with the Uruguayan at Sampdoria.
Reports have also suggested that Torreira would also be happy to return to Italy and be reunited with his former manager, with Gazzetta stating the 23-year-old isn’t satisfied with his adventure in England.
And according to Italian outlet SportMediaset, Milan want to take the former Sampdoria man on a two-year loan for €5-8m, with an option to buy for a further €30-33m, taking the total to €38m.
Arsenal boss Unai Emery has requested extra funds from his board to sign Crystal Palace forward Wilfried Zaha this summer, reports have claimed.
Zaha has been linked with Arsenal, as well as Manchester United and Tottenham over the past few months after rebuilding a career that was once dead in the water.
The winger has become one of the most dynamic, creative and exciting wingers to watch in the Premier League and is ready to once again take that next step in his career.
The forward has reportedly told Palace he wants to leave this summer and play for one of the biggest clubs, but so far Palace have stuck a price tag on the wingers head that many are unwilling to pay.
The Gunners’ failure to qualify for the Champions League for a third successive season means Emery has been given just £45million to spend this summer.
But the Spaniard has reportedly asked the board for some extra funds this summer to make a £55 million move for the Palace winger, claim the Sun.
Real Madrid have reportedly set their price for long-term Arsenal target Dani Ceballos, who looks set to leave the Bernabeu.
Madrid boss Zinedine Zidane is on a mission this summer to build a side that is capable of toppling Barcelona for the La Liga title, and is expected to spend close to £400 million on new players to achieve that goal.
The Spaniard have already signed Eden Hazard from Chelsea and striker Luka Jovic, and there is a lot more speculation linking the club with numerous world class attackers.
The arrival of another attacking midfielder would push Ceballos further down the pecking order and he has insisted his future will be decided after the U21 European Championship.
‘I started well under [Julen] Lopetegui, but once he was fired, I, unfortunately, became secondary,’ he told Onda Cero Radio.
‘I’m not going to say what was said regarding my talk with Zidane but what I can say is that he was clear with me and once the Euro U21 is over, I will decide my future.
‘My aim is to play wherever I go and prove that I can compete in any team in Europe. I hope to succeed because nothing is going to defeat me.’
Now Spanish publication AS report that Madrid will not accept anything less than £44million for the 22-year-old.
