‘Next level’ striker needs to be signed by Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta – Gunners icon announces
Gunners icon Nigel Winterburn has opened up and claimed that ARSENAL need to sign a striker that will help take the club to that next level, amid all the latest transfer speculation and rumours.
Arsenal have a world class attack that has the ability to score goals on a regular basis, but after injurie were picked up by Bukayo Saka and Gabriel Jesus, there has been alot of talk that a new striker needs to be signed this transfer window.
Arsenal scored more goals than in any other Premier League season last term as they amassed 89 points, and this season they have netted 43 goals in 22 league games this season – the fourth-most in the English top-flight.
There has been some big names linked with a move to the Emirates in recent weeks, but if you believe the words of Winterburn, Arsenal need to sign a striker that will help take the club to that next level, someone that can score 20-25 goals a season.
‘Victor Osimhen has been heavily linked with Arsenal, as have the likes of RB Leipzig striker Benjamin Sesko and Juventus forward Dusan Vlahovic,’ Arsenal legend Nigel Winterburn told William Hill Vegas.
‘If you could guarantee Mikel Arteta that one of them can offer 20 to 25 goals a season, that would be great — but no one can guarantee that!
‘The Gunners need a striker to take them to the next level, and that is to win the Premier League. I would take any of those strikers — it doesn’t matter which one. What matters is who scores the most goals for this team and is the best fit.
‘Each option comes with its own attributes, but the priority is finding the one who can deliver goals consistently to fire Arsenal to the title. Addressing this issue in the squad could drive ARSENAL to a league title.
