Pundit reacts to reports Arsenal want to sign impressive Premier League attacker!

Pundit Stan Collymore believes that Arsenal will not manage to sign Aston Villa star Douglas Luiz in the January transfer window.

Luiz was heavily linked with a move to ARSENAL in the summer window – but despite all the speculation and despite all the rumours – the Gunners were unable to convince Villa into letting him leave and he stayed put, and he is having a very good start to the new season.

However – rumours are back in the headlines that Arsenal will make an offer for Luiz once again – in hope that he is interested in making the move to a Champions League club and a side that will challenge for trophies.

He has recently earned a recall to the Brazil squad and there has been alot of speculation that the Gunners will once again go back in during the January window and make a move for the star.

But if you believe the words of Collymore – there is not much of a chance that Luiz will go to Arsenal in the January transfer window.

“I don’t think there’s any chance of Douglas Luiz going to Arsenal in January because Villa will be after the kind of money that I don’t think Arsenal would be prepared to pay,” Collymore said in his exclusive CaughtOffside column.

“They’ve just spent £100m on Declan Rice, and I think that Villa would be turning around and saying that’s the kind of money we want, thereby making it a non-starter.”

With the way they’re going and the direction Unai Emery is taking the club, they’re European contenders again this season and stars want to play for the former Gunners boss.

Luiz will be a brilliant signing and make an excellent addition to the ARSENAL squad. But it would be the wrong time to leave Villa now.
