£18 million deal on cards after Emery offered chance to sign Arsenal a brand new midfielder
Arsenal boss Unai Emery has reportedly been offered the opportunity to sign Real Madrid striker Mariano Diaz.
It is no secret in the media that Emery is still keen to splash whatever cash he has in the budget to improve the midfield areas of the Arsenal side, especially since Aaron Ramsey left for Juventus at the end of last season.
And that has led to so much speculation in the media linking the Gunners with a number of midfielders, with some of those stars all priced out of a move to the Emirates.
But now another name has been heavily linked with a move to the Emirates this summer, with Madrid reportedly offering Diaz to the Spanish boss for a tiny £18 million.
With an allocated £45million transfer budget he has been restricted as to which players he can target, and as a result Emery could be tempted by Real Madrid’s offer of Diaz, according to the Daily Express website.
Madrid boss Zinedine Zidane has been overseeing an overhaul of his squad as well this summer and has deemed Diaz surplus to requirements at the club.
Now Diaz is a man that has failed to live upto expectations in the game and it is very easy to see just why they have started offering him out to clubs like Arsenal, who have been linked with a move in the past.
However, the lad is not good enough to play for Arsenal and is not the type of player that Emery needs to come in and help the club get back inside the top four this coming season.
He may be cheap, he may add depth to the squad, but Diaz is nothing special and Emery would only make a move this summer if he was desperate and had no other opportunities to land one of his other top targets.
So it would be very surprising to see him make the move to London, with Arsenal anyways.
