Emery closes in on stunning £650,000-a-week Bale as Arsenal target threatens to quit Real Madrid

Long-term Arsenal target Gareth Bale is threatening to quit Real Madrid if Jose Mourinho returns as boss.

Madrid have had a terrible season this year under Santiago Solari and there has been a lot of speculation in the media which have suggested that the Spanish giants are looking to offload Solari and replace him with former boss Mourinho.

Mourinho has been out of a job for a few months now after getting the sack from Manchester United and is keen on making a return to the Bernabeu, despite the fact a number of players are a key reason why the special one lost his job at the Bernabeu first time around.

President Florentino Perez has reportedly told the players they will have no say in the appointment as he prepares to meet with club directors on Monday to take a final decision on the manager’s position, with a number of players ready to quit the club.

The Daily Mail has claimed the likes of Sergio Ramos, Marcelo and Karim Benzema are all ready to follow Bale out the door if Madrid do indeed decide to bring back the special one before the end of the season.

Should Arsenal try and complete a deal for Bale?

Bale is an absolute superstar of the game and landing him would make a big statement to the rest of the Premier League as he is just the kind of game-changer that Unai Emery needs in his squad to get the club back to the very top of the game.

However, they may struggle to pay the massive £150 million transfer fee that Madrid currently value him at and meet the massive £650,000-a-week wages he currently gets.

But if they could complete a deal for the Welshman, Arsenal should do all they possibly could for the winger.
