9-goal hitman on way? Emery looking to seal €50million Arsenal deal for sought-after Pepe

highly-rated goal-scorer Nicolas Pepe is wanted by Arsenal in a €50million move, reports in the media have now suggested.

The 23-year-old is earning plenty of admiring glances from some of the top clubs in Europe for his performances in Ligue 1 this season, as he already has nine goals and five assists in just fifteen appearances.

And despite Unai Emery already having Pieree-Emerick Aubameyang and Alexandre Lacazette up-front, it is believed the Spanish boss is still looking to bolster his attack, especially after Danny Welbeck picked up another injury that will keep him out for the season.

Now, according to French outlet Mercato 365, the Gunners are keen to bring the Ivory Coast international to the Emirates in the summer of 2019.

Barcelona are also keeping close tabs on the youngster, especially since Ousmane Dembele may be heading for the exit signs in the coming transfer windows after a disappointing time at the Camp Nou.

However, any Arsenal deal could depend on whether or not the north Londoners can offer Pepe Champions League football next campaign, as the young man has ambitions to test himself at the very top.

Do Arsenal actually need Pepe?

Right now Arsenal have a very impressive attack that is scoring goals on a regular basis, so there isn’t much Emery needs to do to improve that, except maybe add a pacey, creative winger.

Pepe is showing great potential but is not the type of player that Arsenal need right now and Emery should focus on improving other key areas before he brings in another forward that will just disrupt Lacazette and Aubameyang.
