Arsenal eye up Ramsey replacement Rebic as Liverpool and Man United circle for deal
Arsenal could reportedly make a move for winger Ante Rebic, as a possible replacement for Liverpool and Manchester United target Aaron Ramsey, according to the TalkSport website.
With constant headlines on the media over the future of Ramsey, after Arsenal decided to stop all talks with the midfielder, attention has turned to whom could replace the Welshman.
And the latest name to be mentioned is Eintracht Frankfurt star Rebic, who has been at the German side since the summer of 2016.
One of the fastest players at the World Cup, his performances and power impressed a number of Premier League boss and his direct style would suit Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Alexandre Lacazette up front .
Arsenal are desperate to add a natural winger or two to their squad as Ramsey has had to fill in on the right several times over the last few weeks, and although Rebic is not the same type of player to the Welshman, he could be the perfect replacement.
Frankfurt are said to be open to selling Rebic as long as they receive upwards of £26m for him, as they have to pay a percentage of any fee to Fiorentina.
And considering Arsenal can offer top-level football and a nice big wage packet, they are seriously strong contenders to nail down his signature.
The club’s sporting director Fredi Bobic even admitted during the summer that they are willing to do some transfer business, for the right price.
Bobic told German news outlet Sport 1: “I am very happy about the success of Ante Rebic with the Croatian national team.
“The players and the coaching team are watching the World Cup games together in the training camp in the USA and are especially excited about Rebic.
“So far there are no offers available and we’re planning a steady season with Ante Rebic for the new season. Of course we know that a lot can happen when a big club makes an offer.
“We cannot compete economically with the big ones, but that’s nothing new.”
Here is what we think on a possible transfer deal for Rebic.
Alot has been said on the future of Ramsey, but it seems United and Liverpool are most keen to secure a deal for his services and it all depends on whether or not they wish tospend money in January to get a move done or wait untill the summer to sign him for free.
But Arsenal signing Rebic would be a great move by Unai Emery, as the Croatian star has all the attributes and quality to be a huge success at the Emirates, especially since they are short of top-class wingers.
