Top-class act reveals ‘he chose to join’ Arsenal to work with Mikel Arteta
England Midfielder Declan Rice has explained that he chose to join Arsenal to work with manager Mikel Arteta
Declan Rice ended years of transfer speculation when he made the decision that a move to ARSENAL would be the one that he makes next, and the Gunners paid a record-breaking fee to get a deal done.
Rice was the coolest man in the Emirates when he scored his crucial stoppage time goal to set Arsenal pulses racing in the 3-1 defeat of Manchester United. The £105million midfielder waited until the 96th minute to score his first goal for the club with a perfectly executed set-piece routine.
WHAT HAS BEEN SAID –
Speaking to Joe Cole on Channel Four before the Three Lions played Ukraine, Rice was asked why he chose to move to the Emirates and replied: “I have to say the manager, Mikel.”
“From the moment that I met him I knew he was the one that I wanted to take care of the next part of my career and I just had that gut feeling that Arsenal would bet he club even though there was other interest.
“No (there has not been a big jump up in quality at Arsenal), towards the end of my time at West Ham the players we had were unbelievable. But I would say the difference is the way now I’m having to play is much more advanced (up the pitch).”

ARSENAL paid money for Rice, big money, but he is worth it. If he is able to add some more goals to his game, he could be a very special player for Arteta and co.
Landing him was a massive statement of intent from the Gunners and we believe that he will be one of the main reasons why they could win that Premier League title this campaign.
