21-goal superstar ‘is exactly what Arsenal need’ Mikel Arteta told
Arsenal legend Ian Wright says Man United icon Cristiano Ronaldo is exactly the player that his former club need
Ronaldo has come in for some criticism, as have many Manchester United players over a difficult season for the Red Devils, but he has provided more than his fair share of goals for the club this season
The 37-year-old has now found the back of the net 15 times in the Premier League, with six more goals in the Champions League, with some of those goals keeping the club in the chase for a Champions League spot
Mikel Arteta’s men have been struggling for goals of late in general, scoring just two in their last five Premier League matches, four of which they have lost, and there is a feeling that the club will need to sign a couple of strikers in the transfer window.
Wright is bemoaning the lack of a player like Ronaldo at Arsenal, someone who can make the difference in tight games, and has told Mikel Arteta that he needs to add a player like the Portuguese superstar to his squad.
‘He’s got 13 points alone from winning goals that he’s scored for them. That’s what you get at Man United,’ Wright told Premier League Productions.
‘That’s exactly what Arsenal need, because if he wasn’t playing for United they’d be nowhere near where they are.
‘That’s what you pay for and that’s what he’s delivered, he’s amazing.’
All fans know that the club are lacking superstars and game-winning players, that is why they have fallen so far behind the likes of Man City, Liverpool and even Chelsea in recent seasons
Arteta can ask for those type of signings, but will the board really go out and offer players like Ronaldo £500,000-a-week to join the club??
We do not believe that they will
