Arsenal have been told that they would only have to pay £55 million if they want to sign RB Leipzig star Benjamin Sesko in the summer window

The Gunners spent heavily in the summer transfer window, breaking their own transfer record to sign a number of players that they feel will help drive the club into a new era of winning trophies.

However – despite the good form of Gabriel Jesus, there are many out there that believe the club are still lacking a striker to score the goals on a regular basis, with the likes of Ivan Toney linked.

ARSENAL are favourites to land Toney as they look to add a notable striker to Mikel Arteta’s squad, and the 27-year-old is believed to be open to leaving Brentford at the end of the season.

But his £100 million asking price may put alot of clubs offf in the summer window because of the financial fair play rules – meaning that the likes of Arsenal may have to switch attentions to the likes of Sesko.

Transfer insider Dean Jones has told GIVEMESPORT that the north Londoners would only have to meet the release clause of £55 million to sign the Bundesliga striker in the summer window.

He told Givemesport: “Benjamin Sesko’s release clause is higher now than it was previously, but it still only stands at around £55million. For the likes of Arsenal and Chelsea, that would fit within the parameters of any striker deal they would look to do in the summer.

“He has had a brilliant season and so has fellow forward Lois Openda, so it will be interesting to see if Leipzig can hold onto both of them.

“The likelihood is one leaves, and Sesko still seems affordable even though he will cost more than he did in the winter.”
