Arteta: £70 million Arsenal summer signing of Chilwell to solve big Gunners problem!?

Arsenal should make a move for Leicester City defender Ben Chilwell in the summer window in order to be contenders again.

ARSENAL were once again in the transfer headlines on a daily basis about possible arrivals and possible departures, as it seemed that everyone of their players were linked with a move away, while every player was linked with a move London.

And one name that was high up on the shopping list of Gunners boss is that of Chilwell, who is now easily regarded as one of the finest left-backs in Europe right now and arguably the best in the Premier League.

Chilwell has been among the biggest revelations of this season’s Premier League that played a critical role in Leicester’s ascension to third place in the table, Arsenal kept tabs on Chilwell a few years ago but decided to wait before making an official transfer move.

But they should come back with a generous offer in the summer as they are currently getting very little out of their full-backs, and should if they wish to close the gap on the likes of Manchester City and Liverpool for that Premier League title.

It is no secret Mikel Areta has some issues at the back that needs to be sorted out before the season starts next season, and he will be hoping that he gets the kind of money it would take to complete a £70 million deal for Chilwell.

The England international is one of the most intelligent left-backs in the game with great runs and attacking flare which combine smoothly with his defensive qualities, and the fact that he is also proven in the Premier League, means that he would not need long to get used to the English game.

Arsenal need to change their transfer policy or they will never challenge again, but if they can sign the likes of Chilwell, plus a few more, then they could be challenging sooner rather than later.
