Mikel Arteta told to complete signing of multiple Champions League winner and solve issue

Former Manchester United star turned pundit Rio Ferdinand has suggested ARSENAL sign Karim Benzema on a “six-month loan” to solve their attacking problems and boost their title bid.

Arsenal are still challenging for that Premier League after picking up a win against London rivals Tottenham in midweek, but there is still alot of concerns about the striker issues at the Emirates that Arteta needs to resolve.

Gabriel Jesus is out for the rest of the season after picking up and ACL injury, Kai Havertz has been too inconsistent to be considered a player that will guide the Gunners to their first Premier League title since 2004.

But amid all the speculation about who the club should look to sign this transfer window, Benzema, who currently plays for Al-Ittihad in the Saudi Pro League, could provide a short-term solution for Arsenal, Ferdinand has claimed, he said on TNT: “I’d go and get Benzema. I’d say give me a six-month loan, have that,” he suggested.

Former Scotland striker Ally McCoist also weighed in on Arsenal’s striker situation, stating that Havertz lacks the instinct to be an “out-and-out goalscorer.”

“They need a goalscorer, it’s simple,” McCoist said.

“You look at Havertz, the little bit of the stick he’s receiving is a little bit harsh because he’s not an out-and-out goalscorer. I think Havertz is one of those players who would score as many goals coming off the left, or as a No.10, as he would as a No.9. It’s not rocket science, the chances that Arsenal are creating, a proper out-and-out, six-yard box predator will score goals.

Benzema is scoring goals in the Saudi League, he is proving to be a very good addition to the League over there, but he would struggle in the Premier League if he come for the next few months.

The quality of the Premier League is different, the way ARSENAL play is different, and his wages would be massive, so it would probably be a mistake to get the Frenchman.
