£35 million Soyuncu to Arsenal: Agent has update as Premier League move wanted

The agent of Arsenal target Caglar Soyuncu has revealed the defender does want to leave Freiburg this summer, but no contact has been made with the Gunners.

Reports all over the media in the last few months have claimed the Gunners are on the verge of completing a deal for the young man, as he is desperate to make that next step and sign for Unai Emery.

Emery is looking to add another defender to the squad, despite acquiring the services of Borussia Dortmund ace Sokratis, and sees Caglar as the long-term number one centre-back for the club.

But despite reports talks are at an advanced stage, his agent Mustafa Dogru has claimed a deal is not close to being struck.

“Reports claiming Caglar or I saying a deal has been struck with Arsenal are false,” Dogru told Turkish Football.

“Arsenal have not held official talks with us, Sven Mislintat is keen on him but we are currently not in direct negotiations with the club.

“We have made it clear to Freiburg that Caglar wants to leave over the summer.

“Clubs from England, Spain and Italy have expressed an interest but they have to reach an agreement with Freiburg first.
“Freiburg are happy to go ahead with a transfer but only for the right price.

“Playing in the Premier League is what most footballers aim for.

“But that is not to say he would not consider a move to the La Liga.”

Gunners transfer deals are never easy and this will be one of those that could be dragged out as £35 million is a price Arsenal do not want to pay, especially as they have a limited transfer kitty to play around with this summer.
