£65 million rated hitman Pepe breaks silence on possible summer move to Arsenal
Lille star Nicolas Pepe has broken his silence on his imminent departure from the French giants, with Arsenal rumoured to be keen on a deal.
With the Premier League season coming to a close and the Gunners attention focusing on next season, there has been a lot of transfer speculation in the media over the past few months on whom they will look to try and acquire in the coming transfer window.
And one name that has been mentioned about a possible move to the Premier League is that of Pepe, as the 23-year-old Pepe is among the most highly-rated forwards in Europe and his transfer value is estimated at more than £65 million.
Pepe has broken the 20-goal mark in all competitions this season and has been tipped to become one of the most deadly strikers in the game, with Arsenal boss Unai Emery a big fan.
And amid all the transfer speculation surrounding his future with the club, Pepe’s agent, Samir Khiat, recently stated the 23-year-old has yet to decide which club he will join, but now looks certain to leave at the end of the season.
And now Pepe has spoken out about his future, playing down talk of a move away until the transfer window opens up.
“We don’t talk about it, the season is not over yet,” he told beIN Sports.
“Once it is finished we will be able to talk about it, but now no.”
Pepe is showing great potential and is just the sort of young striker that could develop into something special, if he makes the right career move and the fact the Premier League giants are seeking a deal, means he will have options.
Pepe is destined for the big time and his £75 million price tag could be a big investment for any club that signs him, it will just be a case of whom offers the club and the player the most, as money talks in football right now.
The Premier League is a big step up, but it is the one that Pepe needs to make if he is to test himself at the very highest level of football.
However, Arsenal should be focusing on improving the defensive side of the squad as Emery already has a top-class attack that doe snot need much improving in the summer window.
