Piers Morgan believes signing Ivan Toney could see Arsenal challenge for the Premier League and Champions League titles.
Toney is nearing a return to action following a 10-month ban from football with Arsenal and Chelsea both reportedly keen to try and get a deal done when the transfer window opens up in just a few weeks time.
ARSENAL may be sitting top of the Premier League right now – but there is a feeling that the club need to delve into that transfer kitty once more and add a striker to the attack that has the ability to score goals on a weekly basis.
Toney is seen as one of the best forwards in the Premier League and a player that is ready to take that next step in his career, despite the fact he has been out of action for a few months because of his off-field antics.
Now – Morgan has insisted they have what it takes to sweep the titles if they add a top quality goalscorer to their team.
“I still think we need a world-class striker,” he said.
“Gabriel Jesus has a fantastic heat map, he’s a fantastic footballer, puts incredible effort in and will score goals, but he’s never going to score 25 goals a season or anything like it.
“Toney is a natural goalscorer, a predatory goalscorer and we don’t really have that – I don’t think Eddie Nketiah is ready yet.
“If you asked most ARSENAL fans what we’re missing, they’d say that we’re strong defensively, we’ve got a very strong midfield, some brilliant wide attacking players.
“We just don’t have that guy, that Anelka, Wright, Henry or Van Persie.”
OSIMHEN CLOSE TO NEW DEAL –
Napoli club president Aurelio De Laurentiis has claimed that Chelsea target Victor Osimhen is about to agree a new contract at the club.
ARSENAL have spent some crazy money over the last couple of transfer windows and brought players to the club that they hoped would get the side competing for the big titles.

They even have one of the best managers in the game and a man that has been tipped to be a real success at the Emirates – but they are not the finished article yet and will look to add a few more players to the side
That has led to reports in the media that Arsenal could try and make a move for Osimhen in the January window, a man that they wanted to sign in the summer window and a striker that is easily regarded as one of the best in the game.
He has been in contract talks with Napoli for quite some time now, but has been unable to agree a new contract as the Italians are playing hard-ball and do not want to offer him the kind of deal that he feels he fully deserves.
However, the deal was not signed due to what De Laurentiis described as a “change of mood” from Osimhen.
That prompted reports of a downturn in relations between club and player, until the Napoli president’s fresh claims that the deal will be signed imminently after all.
He told reporters at an event in Naples: “With Osimhen, we are about to sign the contract that was pending this summer.”

SANE WANTS LONDON MOVE –

Sane has developed into one of the best attackers in the Bundesliga over the past few seasons after making the decision to Leave Man City for the Bundesliga, but there has been alot of speculation regarding his immediate future.

The German has been in contract talks with Bayern for quite some time now, but has failed to agree a new deal with the club, meaning that Bayern chiefs are ready to cash in one of their best players.
The likes of Man City, Liverpool and even Newcastle have been linked with a move for Sane over the past transfer window, but with the January window just around the corner, it seems that he would prefer a move South.
The Athletic, Sane is said to prefer a move to London, opening the door for the likes of ARSENAL, Chelsea and possibly even Tottenham Hotspur.

The fact that Sane has not agreed a new contract at Bayern will give all the chasing clubs a massive chance to get a deal done in the next few months, as Bayern will not want to lose the man on a free deal.
ARSENAL have so many quality midfielders at the club, and will need to sign a striker, but adding Sane to the side would be a brilliant addition to the squad as he is already proven at the highest level of the game.
