Is Isak Premier League bound?

Arsenal have been tipped to make a move for striker Alexander Isak this January window

It is no secret that Mikel Arteta will need to add a new striker to the squad over the course of the January window, as Alexandre Lacazette cannot find the net on a weekly basis, while Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang is in the headlines for all the wrong reasons.

That means that the door is open for Arsenal to bring in a new striker and there has been many reports in the media which have claimed that Isak is a man that the Arsenal board would like to sign this transfer window.

Isak has scored seven goals in 22 appearances for Sociedad so far this season, after impressing for Sweden in last summer’s European Championships, and has been heavily linked with a big money move to Barcelona.

Reports have seriously linked them with a move for Dusan Vlahovic, but a deal for the Serbian is becoming complicated, as the Italians seemingly want more money than what Arsenal are prepared to pay

No Todofichajes insists Arsenal will make a move for Isak this month.

The reports claims Arsenal plans to leave it late before offering around 50m euros for the Sweden international.

Amid the Arsenal speculation, Kevin Campbell recently come out and told the board to make a move for the big man: ‘Isak is exactly what Arsenal need,’ Campbell told the Football Insider

‘But I think they could do with another one. When you think about Aubameyang, Lacazette, and Nketiah – they’re on the way out, their days are numbered at the club.

‘So you’re probably looking at bringing in two new strikers, minimum, whether that’s this month or in the summer.’

IcFootballnews view…

Isak is a very talented striker and it is easy to see just why some of the biggest clubs in Europe are all eyeing up a potential deal. But the Gunners fans wants to see a striker arrive that will net 20 goals a season and not ten.

Isak has many more years of developing to do, so right now, he is probably not the striker that Arsenal need to get them challenging for that Premier League title once again.

But he would be a good long-term signing to back-up a number one hitman
