Arsenal tipped to complete transfer deal and bring exciting Portuguese striker to the Emirates after Edu makes early contact

Arsenal have been tipped to make a summer move and sign Sporting Lisbon striker Thiago Tomas.

The transfer window may not be open, but there is still business being done around the Premier League ahead of the summer, and Mikel Arteta will be a man that knows he needs to add to his squad in the coming window.

Arteta only managed to get a couple of stop-gap deals done in the January window, as the COVID-19 outbreak stopped big deals taking place, but the summer should be a different story for the Spanish boss as he will have a bit more money to spend

Earlier reports claimed Arsenal were impressed by Tomas’s performance when they watched him against Benfica as they scouted their Europa League opponents earlier in the season , and are now ready to get a deal done after talking to their Portuguese counterpart through Edu.

now, A Bola via Daily Star reports that the Gunners are preparing to make an offer for his signature, and The report says he has a release clause of £52m which ties him to Sporting until 2025.

The 18-year-old has emerged as the next big star from the Sporting Lisbon production line and the Gunners want to sign him early, rather than see his valuation rise over the next few seasons to a fee that they do not want to pay.

Once again Arsenal are linked to a very exciting talent that needs a few years to develop into a player that can make any sort of impact on this Arsenal side, and one that they do not need to make right now.

He is one for the future and not a player that Arsenal need to sign, especially as he will take a significant chunk of that transfer kitty that Arteta will probably get.
